Bigboydan, the reason for moving the Forum is simple, we experience a huge amount of down time with INFOPOP, we try everything possible in our hands to solved the problems and we received really little help from them even though they where hosting the Forum software. The software was good but not the support we got. Now with VBulletin we control the Servers and we have total Control of the application. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

well sadly the reasoning behind this is that a few yrs back when we had it Lander PM'ed everyone when he came out of the closet :neenee: and the entire board had nightmare's for a few weeks and tried to sue Kenny

Personally, I have found private messaging very helpful for members as often times there are questions that a member or poster may wish to ask but hesitates asking on an open forum for a variety of reasons. This allows them the opportunity to ask more freely and not feel as intimidated. Fully recognize there are other reasons not to activate this feature, but do believe that it is a subject worthy of discussion as were the comments regarding the recent downtime. Discussion could start in the Board Room first and then perhaps open it up to the forum. I've always tried to be here to help others. But can't help those that feel uncomfortable to ask in an open forum. Just my thoughts.

Private messaging would be a great idea and hopefully will be considered in the near future. Once again I would like to thank the General for all the time and effort he puts in helping the posters and the RX looks better then ever.

On the previous version, the private messaging was disabled (at least for my account).
If there is a real server load issue, maybe it could be limited to a few messages per day or a short buddy list.
