Given the recent happenings between Allworld and Hollywood in the merger game, I personally do not think we have seen the last of these types of mergers.

One factor that may trigger the very soon upcoming mergers is the so-so football season that alot of smaller sportsbooks encountered this past season. Just a thought and in no way suggesting this was the reason behind the Allword merger.

One thing is certain, I would much rather see a sportsbook merge with a larger outfit than for that sportsbook to just run to the hills with our money.

I am sure many of you have thoughts on this subject.

Please feel free to share them here.

Thanks and good luck.

I think we will see another deal, maybe even two. But overall most books are limping into 04. I just don't see much happening except maybe a spat of outright failures after March madness (before baseball).

Fish-- I believe that your going to see a few mergers after super-bowl and a few more after March maddenss as Buzzsaw has suggested.Places like Pinacle,Olympic,Hollywood,Chris, are the perfect type operations for smaller books to merge into with no problems as far as transferring the post up money into new accounts
.And having marketing offices with enough workers ready to handle the new business imedieately.

I don't care who says elsewise - this has been a horrible football year for books - I am not saying they lost money but this was a dismal year - I know a local who is out of business.

I have heard of locals who are seriously crying the blues. A lot of them are saying that the RX gambling forums have ruined them.
