In a dogfight with A&M right now. Coach has 824 wins and a 15-2 record going in. Big Monday night Game vs Texas. What a turnaround for TT win or lose today. Possibly Coach of Year and Player of Year.

is it OK if I choke my wife today or how about my mom ? Is it OK if I choke a stranger on the street tonight so long as I say I was only trying to help? Is it OK for a college professor to choke his students in the classroom ?
Assault is assault no matter who the victim is. He had no right to choke Reid or any of the other hundred players he touched. He had no right to get verbally abusive with an old woman in Donniger's office. He had no right to get so angry as to through a chair on national television. He was representing IU and had a duty to be professional. It is amazing how people justify Knight's ridiculous actions.
If any other representative of IU did half what Knight did they would be fired in an instance.
That was an optical illusion. The player actually moved forward and it did appear Coach made the contact, but in reality it was an accident created by the player.

As the story goes, there was an elderly lady on the other side the court who needed a seat.

One of my fondest memories was when Teddy Valentine gave Knight the boot and Knight left the court taking the long route to walk/brush the side of valentine. Later being asked why he went off the court in that direction, Knight said there was a pay phone in that hallway and he wanted to call the Big Ten Ref President or some high ranking official about the matter.
Lots of people will say that VVV and it's understandable, but 95%+ of the players having played under coach Knight will tell you they have tremendous respect for The Coach.
