Sometimes I think veteran coaches that get a new long term guaranteed contract with a new team —- after clear success for a long time, previously —- doesn’t give a shit nearly as much emotionally once he gets the new deal as he had been when with his previous team.

Something is wrong I lean to laying the points with Bama.

Alabama and 3 games in a row, made me want to look it up

2013- no
2014- yes, actually a whale of a 6 game stretch. @ ole miss who was ranked 11, at Arkansas, home to top 20 ranked texas am, at Tennessee, at top 15 ranked LSU, and at home against #1 ranked Mississippi state. Brutal stretch there
2015- similar 6 game stretch, at the 8,9,20 ranked teams, at home vs #4
2016- 4 stragith ranked teams, 3 on the road
2017- no
2018- no
2019- no
2020, top 15 Texas am and 4 ranked Georgia sandwiched around a road date at ole miss
2021- no

so in the last 10 years counting this one— half the seasons have had a very difficult stretch for Saban and Alabama. The toughest probably being the 2014 year. however feel like its safe to say Alabama has been challenged in the past over a 3 game stretch

A&M offense is awful. Lucky to get 17 imo unless it’s in garbage time. Backup or not Alabama should wear down the a&m d just cause of how long they will be on the field. Would take the points but Alabama won’t need anything special to win either. With a big game next week Alabama probably plays a basic game offensively but wins comfortably. Wouldn’t want anything on film for Tennessee to look at and study. Basic formations against a &m likely still wins by 17. I’d take the points but would be confident

Funny hearing folks think Bama isn’t going to have full package of O plays with Tenn on deck…outside of some specific things on film that scouts or coaches feel works best or game planned vs specific D…weaknesses vs each. Example: if A&M weakness is DBs packages to attack with WRs TEs and RBs. Bama isn’t holding back. Execute the plan to fullest and adjust if needed but generally dogs called off when Saban feels game is over.

Bama isn’t holding anything back cuz Tenn is on deck. If you think that you’ve got zero experience in coaching or playing sports. At any level

The only time they stop with their plan is when they’ve decided to run clock to get game over with. Subs come in to eat clock cuz being up 3 TDS or more isn’t gonna change.

Hence the line on game. Vegas knows and simulations ran 1000s of times. Does it mean they cover, no. Things happen like injuries.

IMO, blowout. No QB A&M. Bama can run it like last week and toss it enough to TEs and WRs. I’ll be on 1H & Game.

They will show packages but it’s not unlike Saban to tone down the play calling when the oppositions offense doesn’t worry him, especially with a backup qb. I think he knows a&m won’t be able to score much. On a 3rd and 7 in field goal range he may elect to protect the points as opposed to trying anything risky. I think Saban knows his defense can (or should) limit a&m offensively. I don’t think he takes many risks when he likes how his defense is holding the opponent.

he had a great defense with hurts at qb and he rarely opened it up even with superior skilled players. He just knew the other teams offense wouldn’t be able to move the ball on his defense. I expect a lot of power running and trying to play mistake free. Only way a&m has a chance is a turnover or special teams play.

also I expect him to call off the dogs earlier just cause of next week.

Alabama May be able to run up the middle and win by 30 but in the red zone with a backup I see Saban electing to be more conservative.

As bad as the offense has looked at times, i dont see Saban taking his foot off the gas one bit or holding anything back. I think he uses every possible minute to continue to try to get the offense playing at peak level.

Now whether or not you believe the offense will click this week or not, is an entirely different debate. But I’m in the boat of— he’s not going to do anything different because they are playing AM and jimbo ran his mouth NOR do i think he does anythign different because they play UT next week.

Saban has preached over and over and over, play the next play, each play has a life of its own. He’s preached not overlooking an opponent, play this down, etc. He’ll coach that way Saturday always has

I realize the point you're trying to make, but he really isn't far off.
and in 5 years when you forget the whole Jimbo/Saban summer of 2022 saga you'll drop aTm as a "big game" because they weren't ranked and ended up 7-5. You know my point...some douche that watches UCF get through the Uconn>USF>SMU gauntlet is fist-bumping himself. And of course when you deflect away from the no weeks off garbage then you've got Auburn>SEC Title>Playoff 1>National Title. LOL, what a joke of an argument but the Bama hate is entertaining at least, much rather than being insignificant

I realize the point you're trying to make, but he really isn't far off. Take a look at the Alabama schedule for the last ten years and list the three games in a row that were difficult.

2021: Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia
2020: nope
2019: nope
2018: nope
2017: nope
2016: nope
2015: not really
2014: Florida, Ole Miss, Arkansas
2013: nope

I still stand by my take about bama playing 3 straight tough games in a row for 3 straight weeks.

congrats on beating an unranked team by 4 points while at home!!

I’m sure texam is more upset over this loss over losing to appy state

i took the 24.5 so I cashed. No need for hate.

Pete started a thread, I answered. I was correct.

enjoy your win

Bill O’Brien has ruined Bama
Who didn't see that coming? They better get Bryce Young ready this week because they will need 42 points to beat Tennessee.
