Today is supposed to be the deadline for Boston to work out a trade for A-Rod. Last night the two owners Hicks and Henry met and supposedly made progress. I wonder if not only Manny but possibly Nomar might be headed to Texas. Stay tuned.

Nomar is not going to Texas!

Right now they are saying Manny and cash for A-rod.

If that happens, Nomar is 90% gone.

I would love to see Nomar stay but they are saying maybe the dodgers or angels is is destination.

No pressure on Red Sox.....they have lost nobody off of last years team yet and have added Schilling and Foulke!!! WOW!

Does anyone know why Boston want to get rid of Manny so badly? What kind of falling out did Manny and the Soxs have?

Alot has to do with Nomar, although he loves playing in Boston, loves California and wants to be with his new wife more.

Ok but why did they put Manny on waivers. Was it more to send a message to him to clean his act or was it an actual attempt to get rid of him?

Would free up alout of cash if some team would have claimed him.

Yes, obviously there is a little tension between Manny and management too. Nothing great however.

John Henry hates Manny. Look how much he is actually looking to pay ARod out of his own pocket. He despises the guy.

Manny is a jackass. The Bosox cannot stand the guy. At some point during the season Manny mentioned that he would love to go back home and be a Yankee. That's a pretty big no-no in Beantown. He's also expressed displeasure with the town and management at various points during his time as a Red Sox player.

There is no love lost between Boston and Manny. They put him on waivers to not only send a message but also replace him statistically with cheaper players if someone did claim him. (I think he's an $18-20 million player.)
