I see the line went from 4.5 to 7, that's the kind of move you see in NCAA not usually NBA. I know the Oden injury is there but that was out before today. Any ideas?

Maybe because portland had a bad outing last night. Public usually remembers teams' last games....

b2b with the 2nd game in denver usually isn't a good thing either.

Portland played hard late into the night last night... might have something to do with it. They either went to bed late and traveled early today or just traveled to Denver after the game. Either way, travel and time should be taken into account.

Welcome to the RX. I moved this thread as this type of question belongs in the NBA Forum and will likely get more responses. Try to use the Sports Forums on questions like this or for plays and not the Offshore Forum. Thanks and best of luck.

I think that based on the situations favoring Denver in a big way, that oddsmakers are anticipating the Nuggets running away with this game. They are more than willing to drive up the line in order to get some to bite on the Blazers.

The outfits hammered this line as soon as it came out yesterday around 3pm Vegas time and moved it to 5.5-6. They were still willing to lay the 6 today which pushed it to 7. Had nothing to do with "the public" on the Nuggets last night or this morning and everyone knew Mellow would be back tonight as well as Oden not playing. Whether or not they will buy back some Blazers for a middle opp, I don't know.
