Why line move and where us public? BG and NW

Any ideas why line moved from 8.5 to 6 overnight? I'm trying to figure out if big money isn't respecting the MAC, or if public likes the big conference name over the small conf name. Will this be a drubbing of a 6-6 team like Kansas, or class and strength of schedule mismatch like Oreg St

I've got the public being on BG, but money coming onto NW, which is very interesting. Any insight out there? Rather hear that than just picks.

I was wondering the same...at first I liked BG -8. Then at 6.5 it seems like a steal, but something is very fishy.

Looks like they are trying to set up a middle! I believe the best move hear is to wait till half time and bet the side to get back to the number of 7!!

Same situation with Oregon State game....Line moved down but consensus on State....I think the bookie always wins so you have to think like the bookie....Bowling Green may crush them, but does your bookie win or lose? I think this is a selection made easier by the line move....

Tiger, that's right. Oreg St line moved down, even though consensus was on Oreg St. I thought that was odd too. But then, when Oreg St. covered, didn't all the books take a beating? From what I can tell, the books have been taking a beating because most the public teams are covering and totals have been running over.

If I think like a bookie, I'm begging you to take Bowling Green, which would mean the right side is Northwestern with the points, right?

I don't know where you were seeing such high numbers -- the 8's were gone two weeks ago and has been mostly 6-6.5 the last couple days.

I am on Northwestern +7.5 -125 5 dimes, and ml +225 I like the physical reasoning that is compiling, and Northwestern should be able to contril clock and run the ball. Thanks for all the input

Panther, exactly. Public knows all about Va-Tech who beat Miami Flor (another public team). But who knows Cal? Cal definitely looks better on paper.

Line now moving back up as money comes in on BG. Hmmmmmm....books taking money on BG before kick-off.....

Dateline-Phoenix - Virginia Tech seems a bit disappointed to be in the Insight Bowl. The California Bears hardly could be more thrilled. The Hokies have grown to expect better than this mid-level bowl played tonight in a baseball park. Trying to assess the line movement has been tough. I've been watching public and according to my sources, they are on BG. BUT those same source saw the public on Memphis, Miami Ohio, NC State and OVER for everygame (and almost every game has gone over).

To be the public has been to be very good lately. I've got the public as on BG, V-Tech and Over both games.

Public is heavy on BG and over. Cal/VT much closer but VT and over are the concensus.

Late money on NW and over. Can't figure it, maybe just people thinking NW a bargain at +7.

I'm already in BG-6 and over 55.
