I read gas prices are tied to oil prices and that the price of a barrel of oil usually takes two weeks to be priced into gasoline prices.............

Well, over the last two weeks oil prices have gone down from like $115 to $97 a barrel.

Yet the gas prices at the pump have gone from $3.97 to $4.10, and have not moved down yet!

What the hell is going on here?

Prices change within a State according to location...I could get diesel about 10 to 15 cents a gallon cheaper on the eastern side of PA than on the western side...Im guessing that was because NJ was a lot cheaper on petroleum & higher or lower transportation costs depending on location..State & federal taxes are the same within a State..

Maybe next time you should attempt to get it right. That way I won't have to correct you again. However I've noticed just throwing out false and baseless info is a pattern with you.

Still wondering why the pres is responsible for gas prices. I was told from 2000-2008 by repubs that the pres has nothing to do with the price of gas. Guess if gas is high and the pres is a dem it changes the situation huh? The level of hypocrisy here is incredible.

Would it make any sense for the governement to control the price of gas, either state or federal. I myself like less government but it might be in the best interests to not let "the market" be determined by speculators, producers, and distributors. At least then we could blame the government and maybe oil companies would not have record profits every time you turn around. With hindsight, oil probably should have been declared a national resource right from the get go and not been allowed to have been controlled by greedy individuals who had the foresight early on. One thing is for sure, if oil production had been "nationalized" we would be exploring and producing and we would have built the
refineries to handle any and all capacities. Anything is better than the way it is now.
