gambling is a funny profession. its different than being a fan.
on sat. nite, i had auburn +6 over lsu. im not from the south and have no rooting interest, just put 2 units on auburn to make a great rivalry more interesting to me.
exciting game, goes to ot. suddenly im sweatin, with the crazy cfl ot system, that i may lose. lsu, up by 3, and auburn lines up for a fg. suddenly, im rootin against auburn, the team im pullin for the entire game, to miss the fg. when they miss, i win. if they hit, my play's in jeopordy. only a gambler knows how this is. lsu jumps for joy, and so do the auburn backers. funny how you switch rooting interests when theres $ on the line.

Interesting points you have there. I never really thought of it that way but in essence you are only rooting for your bankroll and that can take you on a very winding path.

true, i find that in my "old age", i cant lay off games like i used to, bc i love to have action on games im watching on tv.this is my weakness, and not very disiplined. but im not apoligizing either. since i havent had to reup my acct. in several years. as long as im playin w house $ its ok w/ me.

im not a professional gambler, as many on this site claim to be. i view gambling as pure entertainment, and therefore im not as disiplined as i could be. but ill bet just about every weeknite cfl game, and it gives me great interest to these games that otherwise would probably put me to sleep. i think of loses as a price to pay for my entertainment, so ive got it all " justified " in my mind.
personally, i make the years $ in college basketball, which i think is < 1 week away. the rest of the year, im basically breakin even.
i also cant bet against teams that i root for, so i usually dont bet those games, since i will never be objective. i made an exception this mnf, when i took the loser jets bc so many great cappers were on them, and look what happened. anyway, wdyt?

You'll find a lot of that heart and no head betting in the Baseball forum.

I love watching the games I have money on. I usually put something on TV games so when I watch they are more fun. I guess were the opposite.
