Tech beat Texas head to head, on the field, where it maters, etc., etc. So then why does Texas go to BCS bowl game when a similar 11-1 team that they lost to does not?

Texas far ahead of the Red Raiders in the BCS standings. Look at strength of schedule for a good starting point as to why.

Ok according to NCAA web site, Texas is 6th and Tech 16th in SOS, hardly a huge difference. I would guess the only difference in the SOS is that Texas played Missouri and Tech did not. So I would agree that Texas is ranked higher in the BCS and that is why they got a lucrative BCS Bowl bid and Tech did not and that is also why Oklahoma got the 5th tie breaker, the BCS Standings to go to the Big XII Championhip game. I dont agree with the BCS at all, but if its good enought to decide who gets the $12 million bowl between 2 teams that played each other then its good enough to decide the 5th tie breaker in determing the Big XII south represenative.

Texas Tech might have had an argument if they hadn't scheduled two Division 2 opponents. They have only themselves to blame for that. When will these teams ever learn to strengthen their OOC schedules for BCS purposes? It still boggles the mind on why after over 10 years of the BCS system that these schools still haven't learned to play the BCS game.

Asides from all the reasons stated above, the bottom line is that Texas sells more seats than TTU. Same reason OSU goes over most schools.

Bad economy, bowls trying to rob people at $150 per ticket, where else are going to find people willing to pay besides 2 of the nations largest schools.

They will be shafted due to the rules limiting the amount of teams from a conference. Also they are Texas Tech so the establishment would prefer the "storied" program. Don't give me nonsense about the schedule, sometimes those situations are out of your hand & you scheduled whomever you can.

Lastly get it straight, they did not play ANY division II schools. No I-A/FBS team plays a division II or III team. The order is:

I-A/FBS

I-AA/FCS

II

III

I'm sure you mean 1-AA. Teams couldnt play Division 2 if they wanted to.
