Why do people get fired up for Super Bowl commercials every year?

Seriously. Every year, like clockwork it never fails. "I can't wait for the commercials." OR "Everyone shuttup, the commercials are coming on." OR "I can hold it, I'd rather crap my pants than miss these Super Bowl commercials."

Only for those comments to be turned into...

"The commercials this year were really lame." OR "Is it me, or were the commercials really bad this year?"

No, that's every year. You know why? Because they are commercials.

Shit, I go to MOVIES with professional, mega-star actors, and millionaire genius screenwriters that are labeled as comedies and I dont get a chuckle, so what makes us think that some corporation with a bunch of amateurs doing the jokes are going to do any better in 30 seconds?

Newsflash: It isn't just this year. It wasn't just last year. The commercials always suck. And once every 3 years, some commercial makes everyone laugh - and gets everyone's hopes back up.

The Doritos one that aired before the game came on about the chips that contained a 16 oz. beer per chip was maybe the best of them all.

Because people are sheep and it's the "hip" thing to dig the commercials. Gives them something to talk about with their co-workers. Personally, I find most of them stupid, but that's me. I miss most of them, because I have better things to do like mix a drink or take a piss.

I never understand the big deal about commercials.Everybody hates commercials.Then for one day get excited about advertisements that we will see another 100 times by the end of March madness and another 500 times by the end of the NBA playoffs.

only commercials i really like are the air jordan commercials. the "become legendary" sequence of commercials a little bit ago were amazing.
