I think in this case it is because Assassin is doing the right thing by trying to work it out with the book. other cases the poster is bumping the thread every 10 seconds trying to get attention. Those are the ones that tend not to be legit.

Don't underestimate the fact that the vast majority of players who registered an handle here at the rx are not posting. Most register and just surf the site or read threads.

Not all first time posters are scammers for sure. Some, maybe a minority, are.

I think it's because once you have a few posts here, you've smartened up enough to not let that happen again. I found the Rx because of a no pay and then I learned how to avoid it.

I always check IPs along with date of registration, last time visited site, posting history, agenda if any and natrualy look for any ghosts. Poster Assassin for example is a legitimate poster with over 1800 posts and no apparent agenda. He is a diverse intelligent poster.

Sherman - I really don't want to come across like internet police. I do however run those checks on first time posters who out of the blue have a dispute with any book, not just advertisers. More often than not the dispute is legit and the poster is asking for help from either the Rx. or any poster who may have any contact with the book in question. Ocasionally it is a veteran poster who for some reason wants to hide his real posting handle. Sometime the reason even make sense but rarely. These type of disputes are the most difficult for moderators to assist. I guess posters don't want their real posting handle to become known to the book for any number of reasons.

with Daryl

I am with Daryl in the main. Most novices get burnt somewhere then find out about this site and how it can help put pressure on a scam book.

I think my first post was along those lines, when I unwittingly signed up with Internet 1 x 2, won a few bets, then had the whole runaround process trying to get paid.

Now if I book I am with was to start scamming then this site would be lit up with angry posts because, through this site & others, I know enough about the various books to only be with the reliable ones - albeit I am with Mansion which in my view is in the "questionable" camp.

That said, it is true that some of the "no pay" posters have themselves been trying on some sort of scam with the book concerned. But I'd say that was a small mionority of them, most cases it is the book which is the crook and not the player.

exactly, and the General usually gets to the bottom of it if its a scammer very quickly.. and if it is legit he usually gets it resolved very Quickly also ...

I have been around forums for awhile now and what I don't understand is why people see anything weird about complaints coming from brand new identities. It seems like the most natural thing in the world to me. They get a question or complaint, they start looking around for what can be done, they end up in a forum. Not every gambler's life revolves around posting at these forums.

Like I've only been lurking around this forum for a little while and it seems like there are only about 20 guys. I'm not taking a shot - that's just how it comes across - always the same names. I assume there must be a ton of lurkers to keep the advertisers coming.

I'm also not taking a shot at Sherman here - his query is rationally stated. But sometimes I see these obnoxious guys who are trying to put on a show of how wise to the ways of the world they are and it's like,

A HA!! FIRST POST IS TO FLAME A BOOK!! GHOST!! WHORE!! I HOPE THEY KEEP YOUR MONEY!!

I dunno. When I see those reactions I just think, 'Must be a frustrated loser.'

The proper answer has been given. Many find the Rx when it is late in the game. Players with trouble are often referred here to seek help. There is nothing fishy IMO.
