Why do all Bookies say whenever they win a certain amount they will Retire?

I havent seen one yet retire, unless he has no choice. I believe a bookies gold is to try to win more money than the other bookie. expecially the big ones. I"ve heard so many bookies in my life say I am going to pull up after Football, guess what they still there for basketball and baseball.

a bookie has got to be the easiest job in the world. you take orders all day and have profit built in to your business model (i am obviously talking local bookies). the only pains in the ass are deadbeats and getting busted by the cops.

Pros are no different, despite that same talk, they know nothing else(how to live another way with their day), it's comfort(even when miserable), it's ego(false pride), it's greed(never enough), it's the action!

It's a sad day, when one sees a former six or seven figure lameduck, bustout, or burnout, yet 99.9% never walk away at their pinnacle.
