Why can't teams hold on to a lead in the last few minutes ?

It seems to me in the past when a team scored and took the lead with a couple of minutes left, they usually won the game. Now if my team scores with 2 minutes left, I immediately assume the other team will get the ball back, drive half way down the field and kick 50-55 yard field goal and win the game. That has happened over and over again this year. Has something changed or is it my imagination and it's always been that way. I was thinking bad play calling, bad clock management, playing a non-aggressive defensive scheme or longer field goals from better/stronger kickers are possible causes. I really don't know but it seems like no lead is safe anymore and that drives me crazy.

It seems in the past few years with the rule changes and trend to a more video game type offense (for fantasy) that the defenses cannot keep up and continue get more fatigued than the offense later in the games!

Which leads to this ............"last minute win" Result

We need some creative Defensive coordinators to develop a plan to combat this -!

Doubt it will happen

Just get use to it!

If you watched the game they showed how Seattle all year has taken the lead in the 4th and still lose.

With guys like Rob Ryan still in the league, look for more of the same.

If you think about it. Carolina held on this time. Arizona held on. Detroit held on. Bills held on. Dolphins held on

These pointless threads again

Nothing new, but it does seem more prevalent now. I can remember teams circa 1970 going into the prevent defense and the opponent marching right downfield with dink/dunk shit and winning it.
