joe willie namath. he had style. took alot of punishment. quickest release in history, and threw some pretty spirals. my friends and i used to imitate his classic, deep drop backs and his head fakes, where he would initially look one direction and fire the ball to the opposite side of the field to fake out the db's. he needed to compensate for his bad knees, and he couldn't scramble. he would often wait until the last moment, release a bullet, then get hit hard. if a reciever dropped a pass, the next throw would usually come back to the same reciever again. called all his own plays too. great memories:103631605

namath also played in shea stadium, which gets real windy. it took a great arm to throw spirals through the wind. i have a great framed color pic of him setting up in the pocket at shea, mud all over his uniform.sometimes i wish i were 12 yo again:sad3:

unfortunately, he hasn't aged well though.became an alcoholic, and flirted with suzy kolber, of all people, on national tv.:lol: at one time, he coulda had any woman in the world!
