Oh give me a fucking break!
Does it really matter?
I mean c'mon, you're asking which team another team (Yankees) that bought their entire lineup by basically outspending every other team or better yet spent more money than any other team could afford, would rather play?
Listen baseball is a very simple business and it all starts in the Bronx where the Bankees play.
They spend and spend and spend until they figure they have the lineup to win the WS and if for some reason things don't go as planned, then they go back out in the offseason and outspend every other team just to finetune the roster that failed the season before. I mean sooner or later you gotta think they'll buy a WS championship one of these years---eh?
Until major league baseball institutes the salary cap like the NHL and NFL, the sport is a mere joke season after season and that's the bottom line.
To answer your question: the Bankees couldn't care less who they meet next or down the road for that matter. It's all about spending and that's the bottom line.
:smoking:
What the fuck are you bawling about? The Angels, Twins, Phillies, Cardinals have found ways to be a consistant World Series contenders on $100-$120 million. (Twins actually much less, Closer to $60m-$70m)
The Yankees haven't even been in the ALCS since 2005!!
There's absolutely no need for a Salary Cap. What they need to do is get rid of this fucking revenue sharing bullshit, because all that has done is encouraged the ownership of Royals, Pirates, Marlins, Padres to keep payrolls down.
The #2 and #3 teams in payroll, Mets & Cubs, didn't even sniff the playoffs this year.
I hate the Yankees too but I'm so sick of people bawling around because they have money to spend. Who gives a fuck. Watch them lose with a $200m payroll and enjoy it.
