Ferrero retired his match two weeks ago but not believing it has any effects to the odds. Ferrero has 14-4 record here but after 2003 he has only two games a loss against Mathieu in straight sets and now he beated Hrbaty. Starace seems to be in form now, record from Rome 3-4, 2005 he beated Moya here. Starace might know this court better and he is playing in front of the home crowd which desires win. There should be some spaniards too. Obviously Ferrero knows how to play against Starace but their two last meetings has been three setters and this is how I will try to scare you: Starace's is in his last 15 match all on clay 13-2 (including one challenger) and only losses against Almagro and Nadal. No much hard opponents, the worst opponents were Chela, Verdasco, Hernandez, Bolelli and now Calleri. I think if Ferrero is able to give better play than he usually gives he should be favourite, at maximum something like -120 but if he is not able to do that this will be totally different match. Starace has all the momentum on his side.
