Ok boys, we'd like to know who was that athlete that you most admired growing up as a kid. We don't want to know your present hero, but the player you looked up to the most as a kid. The player you could never take off your mind. The player who you wanted to meet so bad. The player you would constantly try to imitate when playing that sport. The player you really got a thrill watching on tv. The player who's autograph you really wanted.

Mine is easy. Although 30% of you won't know who he is, he was my god, my hero. I wanted to be him. When i finally got to meet him, I was so nervous and excited.

His name is..

Guy Lafleur, and played for the Montreal Canadiens. I used to try to be Guy Lafleur by skating like him, shooting like him, and always wore his #10 jersey.

Now I am sure we all have an athlete we admired growing up as a kid.

Who is yours?? Who was your favorite player growing up?

Jim Lefebvre, LA Dodgers rookie of the year in 1965, the year the Dodgers beat the Twins in 7 games. That year started my obsession with baseball and I've been a Dodger fan ever since.

Don Drysdale and Sandy Koufax for Pitching

Willie Davis for base stealing

And Willie Mays for hitting.

Couldn't decide on one. If I erally had to I would say Mays

some shocking answers so far to say the least..

First of all, boblynch, who is bobby richardson. What sport did he play in, and what era? And come on Mr Lynch, you're telling me of all the athletes you have ever watched growing up as a kid, bobby richardson is your all time hero?

BP, great pick in Guy Lafleur. What were the odds there would actually be another poster saying Guy Lafleur?

But come on BP, what the hell is Mats Naslund doing there? He was no hero, just a little tiny hockey player with decent moves and a good skater. He wasn't even dominant.

Boys,

I don't want to hear 4 players, ONLY ONE.. (general, Bp, dante, Insty) You can only choose your all time greatest hero. You must narrow it to one.

Try to only pick one player.. We've all had a half a dozen guys we've enjoyed, but we ONLY want to hear your all time greatest hero.

Thanks..
