good ole John, you'd think he's collecting social assistance living paycheck to paycheck LOL

Two-time major winner John Daly revealed in an interview with Piers Morgan that he “begged” LIV Golf Commissioner Greg Norman for a spot in the upstart tour.

“You know, we work really hard,” Daly told Morgan on Piers Morgan Uncensored. “I play with Brian Harman in a practice round and some other guys in the practice rounds of the British Open, and it’s like we play pro-ams. We get it, OK? That’s what is the backbone of a lot of our tournaments. But, Brian Harman says, ‘Give us a box of chocolates for the effort.’

“We make tent visits. We do this, we do that. I play two-to-three pro-ams every week on the Champions Tour, and you know we don’t play for a lot of money on the Champions Tour. So, I almost feel like, ‘OK, I’m not getting a lot out of this. What are we doing?'”

hahahah

cry me a river. This dude is getting paid as A SENIOR to hit a golf ball . Yes, there's a senior tour in golf .

monies made;

$112,000
last season- $461,000
season before- $ 334,000

'not getting a lot out this'? john, be grateful folks think you're relevant

John is a cancer survivor remains grossly obese and at most events uses a golf cart.

The golf bug hit South Korea HARD, lol, outshining golf-mad japan in terms of producing world-class players . South Korean's litter the top 20 in woman's golf, most by any country, and actually 60% of the top 20 women-ranked golfers all reside in the Eastern world. Change of hands.

the men's game starting to see promise? . Today , 1- 2 finish. Joohyung Kim becomes the first player born in the 2000's to win on the PGA Tour with a SCORCHING 61 on Championship Sunday. He's 20 yrs old , lol--' Kim is the second-youngest winner on the PGA TOUR since World War II'

he won twice on the Asian Tour , as early as age 17,raising eyebrows, then won the Asian Tour Order of Merit at 19. Heads over to USA and.....boom...winna!!!!!

his boyhood sporting hero? Tiger Woods. The globalization of the game

find me a guy that had a greater impact in his chosen sport than Tiger......give me a name, im all ears ....:)

Picked up a +3450 and a top 5 +650 on Kim.. DK had their major odds up during the tournament. Grabbed the 100/1 for the Masters , PGA , US Open , and 130/1 @ the Open.. Can't see those odds around for to much longer.Kid is impressive. Bright future.

I'd say best shot would be at a US Open . Augusta isn't friendly to 1st timers , and need a solid short game . British Open dunno if he has game for links golf

But a US Open layout ? He's a machine off the tee :

Driving distance: 301 yds, driving accuracy -71%. Wtf ? Small sample size as hasn't played a lot but if that's par for the course ? Geez , the guy is Fred Funk/C Reavie plus 30 yds .

Top 25 at this past US Open at 20 yrs old ? ugh

Does he overdose on Twinkies ?

Great to see these young guys winning on the PGA tour. For every player Norman gets to join his 54 tour, there are 5 new young players like Kim coming up on the PGA tour. Endless amount of young talent out there to keep the PGA strong.

DK dropped their odds overnight to 80/1 on the 3 majors and 90/1 for the Open

Norman to Garcia in April;

'Norman again assured Garcia that this would not be legally possible.

“They cannot ban you for one day let alone life,” Norman texted. “It is a shallow threat. Ask them to put it in writing to you or any player. I bet they don’t. Happy for anyone to speak with our legal team to better understand they have no chance of enforcing.'

lol, well , its in writing for sure Greg;

"Despite knowing full well that they would breach TOUR Regulations and be suspended for doing so, Plaintiffs have joined competing golf league LIV Golf, which has paid them tens and hundreds of millions of dollars in guaranteed money supplied by Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund to procure their breaches," the motion said. "[Temporary restraining order] Plaintiffs now run into Court seeking a mandatory injunction to force their way into the TOUR's season-ending FedExCup Playoffs, an action that would harm all TOUR members that follow the rules. The antitrust laws do not allow Plaintiffs to have their cake and eat it too."

Give me C Smith . Best stroke since Tiger .( Id take a young tiger over cam tho ,of course )

PGA tour has a big problem if they lose in court . What will current PGA members say if LIV players can paly on the PGA tour ?

Also the committees for the 4 majors gotta make a call. The R&A made its call as did the USGA for this yr ,wonder if they change their minds ? Or liv players won't qualify as no world ranking pts ?
What will Augusta do ?

Shouldn’t matter if they can play/qualify for majors. Nobody missing those couple of guys. Just opens the door for all the young amazing talent and up incoming stars on the pga tour we have been enjoying the past few weeks. Deere Barbasoll Travelers Wyndham Rocket 3m have been loaded with the worlds best plus tons of young talent. Been great golf

having dj ,brooks ,dechambeau , (ancer , possibly smith Hideki , cantlay) out of fields is just kinda sad man . PGA tour hosts the best fields in the world ,it's 'the dream ' for young golfers .

Dunno, maybe it's just me pissed not watching stacked fields anymore . Oh well , the game moves forward . No one player is greater than the game .and to your point, new young stars to emerge . For me no setup is better than that of traditional golf : 72 holes ,cut .

cam smith has not confirmed he's living . Who leaked that ?

100 million on table. He gone. What events on pga does he play beside sawgrass and Memorial and his favorite the Zurich. He was gone after British open. He staying quiet because of Fedex cup. Guy likes to play golf and fish. Made his money not gonna go grind dumb tournaments for cheap checks. The top golfers are big event hunters. They MC on some of these show up to play because they have to events and don’t care.

Point is it’s not the best of the best. Pga has 3-4 legit tournaments. The studs don’t play the other 27 tournaments. Maybe 2-3 do.

More will be out the door after Fedex cup. West coast swing only 1/2 play anyway. CJ cup limited no cut field. Is stacked because of structure, location, time and purse. Genesis same boat. Some guys like west coast swing some like Florida some like Texas. The good golfers pick their spot and avoid the rest.

WGC has match play, not pga event. Zurich is team play. CJ is limited no cut field. Majors aren’t pga. Goofy pro am split course pebble. A few things don’t match the traditional suit and tie pga but I’m sure the traditionalist get excited to watch that.

4 majors
WGC events not pga event (limited field, no cuts, match)
Cj cup
Genesis
Memorial
Sawgrass
WM

That’s the nuts of golf basically and 9 of the 13 aren’t pga.

Barbasol Bermuda Bahamas Mexico are a joke. Rahm went to Mexico to try and get some mojo and beat up the field as literally the only top 50 golfer there. Personally I enjoy the smaller events because you see guys hit shots you never see.

End of the day when you look close the pga tour events aren’t really pga tour events. WGC, Scottish open, majors Etc etc. The Euro guys are just as good as the pga guys as in the regulars. You simply don’t see the best of the best in 85% of pga events.

The majors won’t ban them. WGC won’t ban them. The Fedex cup will include them because Fedex isn’t going to dish all that coin out to have next years field be JT Rory in its big showdown events. Tiger plays revenue goes up. Opposite will happen even if just a few don’t play. Good or not old or young, bison Louie DJ brooks type guys bring viewership. Cam hideki Rahm are next tier to go. Morikawa probably bolts. The pay and schedule just fits their lifestyle. They made their mark. Crossed the hump. Majors all they really care about.

Morikawa has played 3 pga events since March. One being the Zurich.

from sawgrass to Wyndham

Rahm played 2 pga events
Morikawa played 4 if you count Zurich
Thomas 4
Rory 4
Cantlay 4 counting Zurich
Scottie 4 Zurich
Cam 3 Zurich

Just to name a few. Obviously can’t expect them to play every week. But stacked fields? 4 majors, sawgrass Memorial and valspar maybe. Thats about it from March to August and only 3 of the events are PGA. But they tend to play as a group (studs) same events. So in a 6 month span the heart of golf, you can witness 3 pga events with best of the best fields.

K, forget 'stacked ' poor word selection .my bad . point is the PGA is weaker with a loss of elite players, no dj,brooks, Rahm ,cantlay, smith , ancer ,Hideki ....,geez. Does it matter if they played 8 events or 4? 4 is better than none .

I don't think they will ban them either- but how do you qualify for a major if you don't get World ranking pts? Their rankings will erode over time. See Fowler ( he will use his past-Winner exemption to keep his card ). There are other criteria than points/ranking, of course but that's the main one.

Yes 4 better than none. Was just trying to highlight that a bunch of fans are in the PGA tour is so great but maybe don’t realize many events are shadowed Under PGA. And you get really good fields in maybe 5 of 30 events. WM Sawgrass Memorial Travelers Genesis Valspar maybe.

Throw out CJ, WGC, majors, BMW, East Lake as they fall under playoffs and East lake is as gimmick as Zurich and LIV events.

Like I mentioned, personally RSM Deere Heritage are 3 I really enjoy. Don’t mind the Bahamas Mexico Bermuda either. But I’m in the vast minority on that. I enjoy kFT also. But it’s hard to view as they don’t air it much. Enjoy seeing guys you absolutely never see on majority of coverage.

If PGA didn’t penny pinch and hold the rights etc of these golfers like slave mules, and go spouting the human ethical world police BS. The guys would go play 8 LIV events. Then play the same 2-3 bigger PGA events. PGA wouldn’t even know they are missing neither would fans because they don’t play most of them events anyway 90% time

PGA needs cut fields to 120 minimum. Increase payouts drastically to the Deere or 3M type evnts. LIV stay in its lane with 8 lil tournaments. Adjust the WR rankings format. The majors carry all the studs but also some completely weak garbage at the bottom. Sawgrass is probably your best field in all of golf. Drastically increase points or $ into the Bermuda Mexico Bahamas type events. Great courses. Or make those type events 72 man no cut events bigger purse like a CJ Cup. Even during majors good golfers who didn’t qualify for major for silly reasons still avoid those tournaments. West coast swing needs more hype or incentives vs NFL CFB CBB etc.

World Rank Points to LIV, they need to tell LIV adjust the players involved to must be like a WR 200 only and tinker this already pre paid $ and make the events just huge payouts. If the pga is going to contract guys the LIV has to also. Let the golfers work independently under one big governed golf association that doesn’t pertain to events etc for rankings or points etc. Can’t blame players taking 100 million but paying that on top of big winners cuts, ehhh how much they really care if already established and wealthy. I’d joy walk 3 rounds of a bad start and already got my bag.

If they don’t figure out LIV points rankings, majors will just create special invite rules. I sure as hell would. Nobody going to tell the masters who or how they structure their fields. You eliminate the LIV guys and if the Rahm Morikawa Finau guys go just even a handful more. They aren’t at Masters then the event takes a hit. Still going to watch. But everyone will put a what if or yeah but field wasn’t like it usually is. Just dings the prestige a bit.

Never going to see Rory at Wyndham, 3m RSM Rocket Deere Valero or good handful of other events. PGA needs figure out how to get those guys into those fields a bit here and there.
