When I bring up certain teams to my brother-in-law who caps games with me, he will sometimes say "if you look in my @$$, you will see that team in there." What he means is that certain teams don't seem to cover for you when you take them, but then DO cover when you bet against them.

Open question for the forum: Do you have a team in your @$$?

For me, it is unquestionably Notre Dame. Every time I think they're outgunned (vs. Michigan this year), they will block a punt or return a kick or come up with some magic to pull of an upset. Every time I am counting on some magic (vs. Purdue this year), they lay an egg! It's probably all in my head, but I have given up betting for or against the Irish, as it seems that God doesn't want me betting for or against them.

Anyone else have an @$$ team? :icon_conf I would love to hear about it.

Both excellent choices! I have to cut Hawaii some slack since they covered for me against Nwestern and MI State....but they'll probably break it off in me against UAB! Cuse sure smoked my sack against Boston College....how can they be that horrible on the road all year and then beat BC at their peak?

Thanks for contributing, T-bone. :suomi:

Another good one, Olddirty....I finally just started playing PSU unders.

And being a K-State fan and alum, I would have to put KU in my a$$ this year!

I got 2 of them....

First Texas - Team looks good, I play them against what i thought was an overrated oklahoma team...Then i figured texas wasn't good and can't keep up with Tech's offense.....nope, But the one that did me in was when I played Oklahoma St. against the longhorns....i don't think i'll forget that one....I had the cowboys getting 13.5 and looking for the outright victory winning 35-7 in the second qtr....I figure the 13.5 is a lock...at best Texas comes back to win by a fg or something...especially being a running dominant team.....how they blew it boggles my mind.

The other is Michigan, their big, strong athletes can put a hurt on some teams....but they can stink it up too.....Tough beat with Purdue then when i'm on the wagon, get pummelled by Mich St......grrrr

If anyone sees me betting on this year's rose bowl, please feel free to call me the biggest moron alive!!! :WTF:

Docgone, it looks like you have a whole party in your a-hole!

shdw01, those are both excellent picks....you forgot Texas squeaking one out in Little Rock as a 12 point favorite! (Maybe you were smart enough to stay away from that one....I let myself get talked into it.) And I have never seen a turnaround like that Texas/Okie State game....7 unanswered TDs!!!!! I'll keep an eye out for your Rose Bowl pick.....I hope for your sake it is an over or an under!!!!!!

Them Iowa Hawks ... $$$ machine under Ferentz

Watch them Hawks ... Top 10 recruiting class this year and Heisman candiate @ qb for the next 2 yrs in Tate and just had one of the Top qbs in the country committ ... just landed a kid from Texas - a rb compared to Peterson out of Oklahoma by many in Texas who have seen this kid in action ... beat out USC for one of the top LBs in the state of Ohio and Iowa has become one of the programs that must be considered if a lineman is serious about playing pro ball as the Hawks have turned out a number of kids under Ferentz who have been drafted into the NFL

Ferentz has done one outstanding job and his coaching job this year with NO running game and winning 9 games is unbelievable ....

Hawks dont lose @ Kinnick under Ferentz and those not following this program are missing out ... I hope the public bets LSU heavy as anything over a TD in that game is a very attractive offering as Simmons should be ready to go @ rb the Hawks pounded an SEC team last Jan 1 so intimidation no factor as Ferentz boys playing on Jan 1 game for 3rd straight season

This year it's

Hawaii and Wake Forest.

Wake covered a bunch of times early, then sh*t the bed weekly.

Hawaii, can't bet 'em. After I saw them get pounded by Boise State, I can't bring myself to lay any $$$ whatsoever on 'em. Tried to take Northwestern 1st half, Hawaii covers. Tried to take Michigan State for the game, Hawaii covers, and Mich St was killing them at the half.

:WTF:

Looks like NC State's Jekyll & Hyde performances have burned more than one poster! I unloaded on them (+7 I think) at home against Miami, and they got STONED!

Don Mercer, you make a good point about Iowa, but are they in your @$$??? It doesn't sound like they have let you down at all this year.

GoSooners, great point about the WAC!! They like to play spoiler when they play out of conference, but it's a crap shoot when they play within conference.

Keep `em coming, RXers!

College BYU If I could figure out a way to honestly fade my own plays on this team I'd have something going for me. I just stopped betting their games.

Pro's it's Vikings hands down, this should be an easy one too, pick em before week 8 pick against em after.........another team I rufuse to play.

Knock on wood but 2 teams I always do well with either for or against are wiscy and NC...........go figure.

FNGIN..........some advice............grit your teeth and bet the rainbows at home and against em off the Island.

DOC...........I'm all over Iowa I think they cover in their bowl game as well.

Agreed on BYU, JS! After beating Notre Dame (the team firmly entrenched in my arse!), BYU had the cover against USC and then pissed it away. NC was a GREAT underdog and a horrible favorite--they covered a bunch for me getting points, especially at home, but watch out once they laid the chalk!

Vikings' late season wilt is becoming almost reliable. Will be interesting to see what happens vs. GB Sunday--Packers are like NC....they play much better as an underdog for some reason.

Thanks for contributing, guys. :suomi:

Great thread Iguana.

I think ND is in every professional gamblers a**. They are one of those teams that we should all just stay away from.

I think the ever-inconsistent Texas Longhorns have to be my pick. They always seem to pork me no matter what side I'm on. I have a BIG play against them this Bowl season with Michigan. I'm holding my breathe, but I just can't see how an inconsistent, overratted Texas team can stay with this Michigan team.

Hawaii. I think I have taken them in 7 games over the last two years. My record is a stunning 0-7.

Good pick, Muff! You probably saw shdw01's post above with Texas and Michigan both being in his arse....I advised him to play an over/under and stay away from either side, as he will undoubtedly make the wrong pick!
