As if we had a valid reason to install the draft and send thousands of our youth to die in some malaria filled jungle to abolish the paranoid fear that communism would creep into Vietnam and subsequently wash up on the California shore and infect the USA?

There was no "military duty" for us to fight in Vietnam, period.

Ali had the balls to say what all Americans should have said about our involvement in Vietnam, while Bush played the political cards and dodged the draft by hanging out anywhere but where the action was and then treats his own military service like he was some sort of war hero...

I have absolute respect for Ali because he did what needed to be done.
