I don't really understand it either, under 2 seconds, no FT's after missed shot by team down should be shot if 4 pt > game imo. What's the point and really would aid refs who can't help but blow their whistles when someone looks cross eyed at the player with the ball. Other problem is consistency, some refs wont call that foul but some do and I think that's what makes people wander.
