This is quite possibly the deepest division ever in the sport (the top 3 might not be as solid as the top 3 last year). All seven schools potentially will start the season ranked. Someone will end up with 4-5 losses. Who do you see as getting last in the division?

Since when is your three top teams in a conference losing their bowl games considered to be the deepest ever in the Sport? Obviously they were not. To answer your question, as of now, I have Miss. State projected as the #7 team in the SEC West. They have a very good returning QB, but their offensive line is brand new and they lose their #1 RB. The defense loses a lot of talent, and must be rebjuilt. The schedule is not kind, except for the usual non-con creampuffs like NOrthwestern State and Troy. State goes to Auburn, A&M, Missouri and Arkansas, and hosts Alabama and LSU. It is easier to find 7 losses than 7 wins.

I call the sce west the division of disappointment.

Bama fans , Auburn fans , Ole Miss fans , and LSU fans all think their team can win the west and would not be satisfied with 2nd place.

Arkansas and A&M fans expect 8 wins , 1 of them "might" get that but likely not both. .... And then there's Miss St fans who know they lost a lot of players but are still expecting 9 wins.

...When its all over there will be 1 fan base thats very happy , 1 fan base thats not completely unhappy and the other 5 will all be disappointed.

But to answer the question , my guess would be Arkansas last.

I lean Miss St or A&M. At the top I just can't invision the top two being anyone other than Bama/Aub.

I also lean Miss St. Arkansas is a candidate for it because they don't have quite the depth yet of the other teams in the West. I think whoever loses the game between Arkansas/Texas A&M falls to the bottom or just above the bottom of the West.

Have to hesitantly go with Miss St... but they are a very good team. Incredible division.

For what seems like the 10th year in a row, preseason odds favor either Alabama or Auburn to come out on top in the West and for good reason. Either the Tide or War Eagles have been in the national championship picture since 2009. Combined, the two schools won four straight national titles a couple years back. Their showdown November 28 is at Auburn this year.

I think tex a@m wins the west imo

Bold statement Willye. Care to tell us about A&M's defense?

That defense is in the Kentucky or Vanderbilt league...both of those teams are in the East.

Schedule, leave texas 3 times avoid the top teams in the other half of the conference sets up well for a nice price to win in a tough division

Crossover Schedule:

Alabama. @ Georgia. Tennessee
Arkansas. @ Tennessee, Missouri
Auburn. @Kentucky, Georgia
LSU. @South CArolina, Florida.
Ole Miss. Vandy, @ Florida.
Miss. State. Kentucky, @Missouri
Texas A&M. South Carolina, @Vandy.

Big advantage for A&M. They play the projected #7 East team (Vandy) on the road and the #5 team (South Carolina) at home. Alabama gets the worst of the scheduling by far, going to #1 Georgia and hosting #2 Tennessee. A&M also hosts Alabama and Auburn, and gets Arkansas at a neutral site.
