I Am Curious What The New Englanders And Sox Fans Are Expecting From Theo, Luchino And Co.

Schilling, Arroyo, Wakefield...do They Allow Both Lowe And Pedro To Leave? It Seems To Me Both Would Be Getting Inflated Market Value At This Point..

But, Can They Tear Down The Team That Just Did What No Boston Team Could For 86 Yrs? This Is Going To Be A Very Interesting Off Season Again!

They will quickly learn what the Yankees felt like when Clemens and Pettitte jumped ship.

I'm looking forward to having another Boston hero, Pedro, betray the pathetic Botards and take the Yanks to the top.

I think (hope) they keep Pedro at 9 mil/year for 3 years. Also Veratek, and Cabrera. They just excercised the option on Bill Mueller.

Shilling, Arroyo and Wakefield are not free agents.

got back from the parade a bit ago. was awesome just awesome. RSN is just huge.

if pedro goes we will understand. in theo we trust. pedro cant go more than 100 pitches on 5 days rest. its rumored that if the sox cant reatain pedro, that pedro would like to play on an NL team becuase he feels he can get deeper into games before having to be pulled and he would also perfer a warm sunshine team such as florida or san diego.

i doubt lowe comes back they will probably toss him an offer but he will be able to grab more somewhere else.

the sox just extended team option on bill muellar so he is back, and varitek is #1 priority he is the leader and makes the pitchers better and tough to find that in a guy who also just happens to be a power hitter. superb catcher.

cabby wont be back probably unless he also settles for a bit less, there is very heavy talk of omar vizquel another gold glover coming to bridge the gap to current farm player hanely rameriz comes to play starting SS for us at 200k per year can you say dynasty?

there is rumors of manny being traded to the mets but sox officials while not denying it, said the deal is a long shot at best.

oakland pitchers tim hudson, mark mulder, and barry zito will all be shopped so who knows

carl pavano is an almost certain lock to be a 2005 pitcher for the red sox, his native team that he had been rooting for since a child however pavano has nasty stuff but has only had 1 good season and is being billed as a#3 at best. who knows what he does with gold glovers and power sluggers behind him though. thats the thing the sox formula allows pitchers to be a lot better than they normally would and makes superstar pitchers look rediculous.

baseball is non stop! thats all i got for now

theo is crazy they use something i forget what its called im thinking 'statometrics' maybe?

it determines mathematically what a player does both on offense or defense and arrives at a sum number to determine the players abillity. how the hell else does a 30 year old just step and do wonders?!

example:

2nd base
pokey reese vs. mark bellhorn

pokey is a far superior infielder which saves hits and will garner X ammount of outs, but bellhorn may be marginal as a fielder but his batting and power is better than pokeys .222 avg that is short of power. you field bellhorn becuase even though he comes up short in terms of fielding his batting translates to more runs scored through eventual play of several innings.

another example:

nomar vs. cabrera

nomar is a great hitter, has power but his defense allows X amount of hits and runs which gives his overall # nothing to smile at in their little computer. they look around they toss cabby in their PC and they see a guy who has outstanding fielding and can do things with the bat that combined give his statometric number a much more favorable number over nomars. at a distance it looks like a crap dump off trade but theo is smirking all the way having run the statometrics through his computer and sees the deal as gold.

when he tried for a-rod alex's statometrics looked terrefic for x ammount of money, (theo figures everything) when alex wast available at X dollars he says ok were done with that and moves on.

math rules all. theo is an astute mathmatician with outstanding baseball knowledge and puts it all together and does things as if its real life fantasy baseball

I think of Pedro, Lowe, Cabrera and Varitek... they only keep Varitek. Have to keep him, everybody knows he's the heart and soul. Assuming they can get Pavano, I have no problem with losing both Pedro and Lowe. I agree with some things I've heard that they'll probably go to Omar Vizquel to hold down the fort until Hanley Ramirez is ready. F Arod.

and thats just it you run everything along with payroll, the players age, and you arrive at a result and does it fit such and such a parameter and thats how the guy makes descions

Signing Pedro to a long-term contract would be a waste of money, imo. Pavano is definitely the younger, fresher, better long-term potential way to go.
