Props:

Darren McFadden to win Offensive Rookie of the Year +300 (1 Unit)
I went donw the list and this is the only player on the list that stuck out that will play consistently and probably perform well from what I've seen in the pre-season. Not to mention I think the Raiders are going to surprise a lot of people this year with that defense and now a good offense with Javon Walker and Fargas/McFadden.

Atlanta Falcons Under 4.5 Wins -120 (2 Units)
Rookie QB, RB who never started before, Roddy White #1 Reciever, Traded there best player in the off-season. Smells like a bad year. Tough division with the Panthers, Bucs, and Saints all will beat up on the Falcons. They go vs Det, 2 games vs Saints, 2 vs Bucs, 2 vs Panthers, vs KC, @ GB, vs CHI, @ PHI, @ Oak, vs Denver, @ SD, @ Min, vs STL. I see 3 potential wins at best.

Patriots Over 12.5 Wins -125 (4 Units)
All I need is 13-3? Your kidding right?

Bengals Under 7.5 Wins -145 (3 Units)
Bengals have been in turmoil all off-season and know there are reports Rudi Johnson might get traded and Chad Johnson has a bummed knee. Browns are legit this year and schedule is a tough one. Can't see 8-8 here.

I also made this bet. I think the low number and giant expectations of Matt "the savior" Ryan paired w/Michael Turner makes people wanna believe.....they shouldn't. At least not this year

Yea I agree. Matt Ryan is a good rookie QB and is going to be an average QB his whole career. But for now, he is going to make rookie mistakes, every rookie QB does. Michael Turner is used to coming in and running on worn down defenses. Now he will have to endure a full season of carries. I'm not expecting much. 3-13 best case scenario.

Redskins @ Giants

After a Super Bowl victory last year over the unstoppable Patriots the Giants come into this year still getting no love. Maybe it is due to the losses of Michael Strahan, Osi Umenyiora, Jeremy Shockey, Gibril Wilson, and Kawika Mitchell. Well if that is the reason, which I think it is, I am here to inform you that the Giants have more then capable guys ready to fill these rolls. Replacing the two defensive ends are Justin Tuck and Mathias Kiwinuka who are stars in the making. Justin Tuck is an absolute monster on the defensive line and both these guys should rack up the sacks this year since they probably won't get doubled as often as Strahan or Umenyiora would have. They drafted Kenny Phillips who should slight right in for Wilson as they are similar players who play the run well and are ballhawks in coverage. This defense is still going to be a great defense because of one man; Steve Spagnuolo. The things this guy did last year were simply amazing. His halftime adjustments are on a Bellichek type level. There is a reason they paid this guy like a head coach and I promise you he will be bringing the heat at Jason Campbell all day.

Speaking of Campbell, he really took himself down a notch in my mind last year. I was really high on this guy but when you can't even out-perform Todd Collins then you have a problem. Campbell is a quarterback who should be rolling out and using that cannon to launch the ball down the field but in this Jim Zorn offense, from what I have seen, it doesn't seem like this will be the case. They want him to throw short passes and complete a lot of passes which is really not going to help Campbells development as a quarterback by not letting him play to his strengths.

Another guy who I lost a lot of respect for last year was Clinton Portis. He is capable of so much but really didn't show much last year and I think it hurt him to give up a nice chunk of carries to Ladell Betts in some games. Portis seemed to be dancing way to much last year rather then just pounding the rock up the middle.

I don't think the Skins will get much out of the Giants defense in this one and the Giants historically move the ball well against the Skins. They haven't gone for under 300 total yards since December of 2004. I feel like this will be a typical Skins-Giants battle with lots of hitting, fighting, and running. With that being said I think the Giants confidence is at an all time high right now and this team is excited to come and raise the flag back at the Meadowlands. They have a healthy Plax and what seems to be a new Eli Manning. Giants stadium will be rocking for Big Blue and I think they get the job done.

I like reading your post but what you said bout Portis is just crazy. The guy had 1650 total yards and 12 td's with his oline hurt most of the season..

what more do you want the guy too do??

Solid record and nice write-ups.
Look forward to reading your posts.

I like the G-men this week, too. Manning has looked
solid all preseason after a stellar post season.
Campbell has been struggling and has a new system to master.

I know what he had and I know how he ran. He ran like a pussy last year. He is still a great runningback he just isn't reaching his full potential year after year. The guy only ran for 3.9 yards per carry on 300+ carries. Look at his game stats, he went over 100 yards just 4 times last year. He went under 75 yards 10 times last year and once for 76 yards. He had 3.0 ypc or less 4 times last year.

His numbers are inflated from that 196 yard rushing performance vs the Jets. He seemed to lose interest in the middle of games last year and anyone who watched him in Denver compared to last year can't argue that he is running softer.

He is still one of the better backs in the league but he showed some signs of regression last year IMO.

i personally wont be touching this game but a few things stand out to me. i believe the giants defense has taken a BIG step back. its one thing for your team leader to retire and go out on top but why would you not do something in the offseason to replace him? i mean tuck is good but his numbers were good because teams had to worry about osi and strahan, will tuck replace strahan? i think not. will he replace osi? no chance. then you let mitchell go thinking kiwanuka is going to come back healthy and now he has to play an undersized defensive end position where he hasnt played before. on offense, shockey will be a much bigger loss than people think, while he was a distraction/whiner at times he was more valuable in pass coverage and run blocking than people know and boss will not fill that roll.

the redskins are deeper and more talented in the skill positions but with a new head coach and a new system (again) for campbell to learn they will struggle early in the season in my opinion. if they stay healthy this could be a very good team by mid season. i really dont like the giants this year but its opening night and the meadowlands will be rocking so i think the skins will have a hard time getting it done.

I agree with KidKash, I think the D-line of the giants has taken a big step back and without Osi, things are going to be a lot different.

I do think the giants will still cover, but it's going to be closer than 13-27.

I disagree on Tuck. Tuck was the most feared player on the defensive line late into the year last year and especially in the Super Bowl. The guy has been learning from Strahan and Umenyiora for 3 straight years now and finally got the chance to play and had big success.

Now as for Umenyiora. A common misperception on Umenyiora was that he is a presence on the defense. He is not. As a Giant fan he never gave me the confidence that Strahan gave me on the defensive side of the ball. Don't get me wrong Osi is a great player but their is a reason he got those 6 sacks vs the Eagles and that after 3 of them they continued to double Strahan rather then Osi. Take out those 6 sacks in the Eagles game and we have a bad year. Umenyiora loss is not going to hurt nearly as much as ESPN wants it too.

By the way Kiwinuka has played defensive end in the NFL and to call him undersized isn't fair when you consider he is 6-5/265 lbs, Osi is 6-3/261, and Strahan is 6-5/255. The only reason Kiwinuka switched to LB is because he is THAT athletic and they wanted to keep their best 11 players on defense. Kiwinuka was in the rotation during 2006 midseason and had 4 sacks, 2 FF, and 2 INT's in mainly 3rd down situations.

The defensive ends will be fine. Strahan was the voice of the defense but Antonio Pierce was and is the leader of that defense. Aaron Ross is ready to show his star potential this year and Kenny Phillips is going to be a monster. I don't think this defense will miss a beat.

Shockey brought more good then bad. You saw in the playoffs what Eli can do with his confidence high and Shockey never did anything positive to his confidence. He is much better then Kevin Boss but Boss won't hurt the team and Eli's confidence.
