Don't do it. Just say no. If I never delved into horse racing I would be alot wealthier today. If you can get your hands on "steam" horses, you will make money. But you have to only bet those. if you try to make money handicapping, you have little to no chance. The juice in horses is just too much. "steam" horses are those where the owners and trainers have either set up a horse to look bad by stiffing him and then running him in a spot where he can't lose. You can also make money if you can get your hands on inside info on first timers, aka maidens. those spots where you have a huge edge are so few and far between, i would implore anyone who is trying to get into horse racing to make money to stay FAR away. If you want to bet amounts that are so small that you really don't care if you lose, that is one thing. But if you or anyone is seriously considering getting into it with the notion that it will be lucrative, forget it.
