Yesterday, I made a larger play on Creighton -1 -115 on the first half line. About an hour later (i like to see if lines move), I saw that the line was -1.5 -110. Although after the fact it didnt matter what the line was (easy winner for once), which line would you rather have?

Am I right by saying if you're playing to "win", then u want -1 -115 and if you're playing "not to lose" then you want -1.5 -110?

Also i saw later in the afternoon that the line was then -1.5 -105. For those that answered -1-115 in the previous question, would you rather have taken -1.5-105 instead of -1 -115?

5C is decent, so I would pick -1 at -115. Anything over 5C is in the long run going to cost $$$. Those who recommend buying a point or more in this forum are padding the record on rare pushes/wins, but the bottom line is what counts, and they are lying if they think this sort of behavior saves money.

In football I've tried to avoid 1/2 point losses when playing totals, but after a long and lengthy analysis (5 years) of all my plays I will no longer ever give more than -115 on any play. It sure gives one piece of mind to have the key numbers, but as my Vegas wise-guy friends will tell you, it's a losing proposition.

I look forward to testing my willpower (usually my best trait) in this regard for '14. Good luck with your plays!

Thank you for your response. When i have small plays on a game, i dont mind paying -15, -20, or -25 considering its not much. However on bigger plays, i hate paying the extra juice on losses.

Knightrofins I usually save paying extra for juice on smaller plays such as $25, $50 and $100 because if and when you loose the loss don't have nearly the effect on your bankroll. If for example you are betting $500 on a game, you should feel confident that your team wins and covers the spread. Point is your highest rated picks shouldn't need any juice. If they do, down grade the pick and focus on another game! Just my two cents...

Quite possibly the dumbest thread I've ever read.
Hope you have it figured out now

on 1st half side i like plus money of 05 or more on the fav team and go with the dog, to me a side that is flat or even 115 is not that much different in side strength
