The stress you save yourself by not watching the games you bet on

Or the knowledge you gain from watching the games you bet on

Great question. Personally, I watch as long as I feel I have a chance to win the bet. When things go south, I go do something else and try to just let go.

In short, I'd say both are significant, but I'd go with knowledge gained.

I have found when you bet over your head the harder it is to watch. I don't watch a lot of games.

That's the main thing I improved on in the last 5 years. This hobby does not take up near as much time if you are not watching all your bets.

There was a day when I would watch the cbs sports screen for 8 hrs a day with 3 TVA on at the same time. I had to get out of that life.
Now the only games I watch are games I would have watched anyway even if I was not betting on them.

I was gonna say the problems come when you bet games only because you can watch them. Bet has to qualify other ways. Never JUST because it can be watched.

NFL rewind is a must for me.

It's all about the knowledge. So yeah, I watch every game, every week, all season long.

With rewind you don't have to worry about the commercials and such. Just the entire game where you can rewind and fast forward, pause and all the goodies.

A

when you include getting much needed rest as opposed to watching late west coast games.

Tough question JC , i'd call it a toss-up.

I think it really comes down to the individual person and more importantly how a person handicapps.

If you're one of these sabermetrics math and stat guys , you don't have to watch a single play from a single game to crunch your numbers , but if the human equation is part of your capping you can probably learn things from watching and listening.

My problem is that i dont stress from losing (im so accustomed to it i expect it lol) but i get stressed from listening to these gosh danged blow hard announcers. You'll hear more shit from these commentators than you would from a marching band with diarreah. ... I usually watch with the volume muted and music playing in the background. (unless its a Bama game , than i listen to the bs)

...I do like what nfltrends said about rewind , thats the ticket for breaking games down afterward.

I rather just watch a game without anything on it. I used to be the exact opposite though. But if there is wagering involved, it's always better to watch, especially if there is live betting and 2nd half wagering.

I want to agree with Ty Bounce above that it's almost a toss up, but I think knowledge earned on some games gets the edge...

I hate watching rewind and then see some bonehead play that messed up a wager

If any kind of serious money is at stake, I prefer not to watch. I am convinced it puts years on your life.
