Where Do You Buy Decent Furniture At Decent Price?

Seems like there is not much of a middle ground with furniture. The good stuff is EXPENSIVE as hell! Really cheap shit is TERRIBLE! But even the "middle ground", places like Raymour and Flanigan, which I have bought from a couple of times, the quality ain't great. Anyone have any recommendations? (I know some furniture stores can be regianlly, so if it helps I am currently living in CT, but putting together plans for a move to NC)

I suggest moving to N.C. before buying any furniture. You'll save yourself a big headache. Plus eliminate any chances of it getting damaged during transit.

agreed...I was thinking it may be an option to buy at store in CT and have delivered, but you are right....know any place good in NC for decent stuff at decent price?

Never heard of that store CT, so I looked it up and they are in NC....would you say they are comparable to a place like Raymour or better? (or maybe they do not have Raymour in LA?)

Like you say it's a regional thing I guess. I never heard of the places you mention.
So I guess it's all about where you live.
Surprised they don't have Rooms to Go where you live . I think they are close to the largest furniture seller in America . Just assumed they were everywhere

they can price just about any manufacturer, with few exceptions

they couldn't find the crib my kids wanted from Restoration Hardware for example, so they can't price proprietary brands

Thomasville, NC is home to Lay-Z-boy, Bassett, Broyhill (now Thomasville), and many others. High Point, NC is loaded with furniture stores and discount places. It's worth the trip...

I've bought and sold a ton of stuff on CL. I built a cabin in the mountains a few years ago and bought several pieces of furniture off CL. Never had a problem. I bought and sold a wood stove also...
