How is it the book can get the funds almost instantly? Person to person, do they have people who work at Western Union that pull the funds? That can`t be...perhaps its best not to say how they do it on here...

I know at one time, it took about an hour (I actually thought they sent someone to a WU, the person thats name is the receiver) now though in most cases it comes out instantly....

They take a risk on you not pulling the funds back before they can have someone go pick it up. I think most shops won't accept "1 minute to closing" WU deposits now as they've been burned too many times

I pretty much said that tongue in cheek , meaning how else could it be done? You sound like you know this to be the case...

I don`t think ANY book credits accounts til the money is safely in their hands now days...the story`s I read on that, no wonder so many earlier books failed!

they have a software package developed by WU in which they can verify the funds and the funds will be held by WU, and then the funded will be collected once on a daily basis. Once the sw vrifies the money controll number the sender can not get the money back.

I have used WU and within 10 minutes and check on the web and it will state that the funds have been received.
I think that books might either have a second company that is under their umbrella but are actual WU agents. They must have direct terminals to process the funds so quick....or they have a WU agent that they are contracted with to process the funds so quick.

If so then does WU know that the $ is for gambling??

I've always used WU to make deposits.

Made one each to Carib and Olympic in past two weeks.

Oh, I live in Florida.

The funds are actually sent to an individual name. I'm sure that once the Book can verify the Money Control number, they ok the deposit.

Carib posts my deposits instantly, with a (for example) Account Balance $100.00 (pending).

This allows me to wager and by the time the event is over with, they've obviously confirmed the transaction in full.

It's quite simple actually, and your chances for stiffing a book are quite slim.

The thing that really gets in western union nerves about gambling payments is when you do it through their site using a cc/debit card. I supose that for fraud reasons (and some others) they have a much tigher control over what they suspect are gambling payments

People make Western Union rich, so do books. They (western Union) know that the money is going for gaming but they would be stupid to stop it. Some times they need to screw up the flow once in-a-while just to show the gov. that they are "trying" to do something. They make millions from off shore books.

Carib credits your account as soon as they receive your message on their site that you've sent it. Just like Barman said, they put a "credit" beside it until it is cleared. Ive had a funds show up in my Carib acount via Western Union in as little as 2 minuts. No reason whatsoever every book shouldnt follow this same method. It's very simple, if there are any problems with the funds being received by the book, then all they have to do is simply pull the funds right back out........

I use Western Union quite frequently because I don't like waiting the time it takes to get money into Neteller. I've always done it through the Western Union website and they never credit my sportsbook account until after I have already received an email from Western Union telling me that the money has been picked up.

On a couple of occasions I've had to call Western Union to get the money transfers approved. They ask a bunch of questions to verify my identity and ask what the money is being sent for. It's a tad inconvenient but much better than waiting a week to have a Neteller EFT show up.

For withdrawls, on the other hand, Neteller can't be beat. Usually 3 days tops before the money shows up in my checking account.

Nick...they ask you a bunch of questions? What do you tell them the money is being sent for? I've never sent Western Union online and think I will continue just doing it in person if they get that nosey.
