i'm not an <anti-us>, but i can stil answer your question, right ?

there are several things here that US administration has to prove.

1. reason for the war, was the accusation that Saddam is linked to Al-Queda.

They have to prove this one first.

2. After that, they have to prove that he has WMD.

3. Then they have to prove that he was not going to disarm, as asked by UN, which will be taugh to prove since the UN inspectors said that the disarmement process was advancing.

Finally, they'll have to explain why they changed the regime in a third country, againstthe US constitution, and why they went in a war against that same country without the blessing of UN, which makes this war illegal.

#3 is proven he signed the agreement in 1992 to disarm and 11 years later Saddam had not disarmed. Saddam kicked the un inspectors out. The inspectors would have never been allowed back in if it wasn't for the US & UK troops.

ok, i can give you credit for that one, but what about the other ones ?

as far as i know, the US constitution does not allow US administration and armed forces to change a regime in another country.

the UN conventions treat all wars not approved by UN as illegal.

#1 reason was the first one that the american administration used to approve the war in iraq. no proofs whatsoever.

I'm not sure why you have this belief that the US has to get permission from the UN to act in its own defense. Think about it, France and Russia are known to be selling weapons to date to Iraq. France and Russia both have veto power in the UN. Why would the US trust the UN to act in the USs best interest while they are violating their own resolutions not to sell arms to Iraq. It really doesn't make sense to think the UN would ever be viable.

I never said he didnt have WMD'S. In fact, I AM SURE HE DOES. The United States has more WMD's than the rest of the world combined ? We use our power to attack countries 3% our size, and then wonder why other countries want to get WMD's. Because that kind of levels the playing field a little. Look at how differently we are treating NK.

the thing is, USA respects only those UN decisions that fit their interests.

do you know that USA is only one of maybe 3 world countries that doesn't want to approve the International War Crimes Tribunal, unless there is a clause which says that USA soldiers can not be brought to that tribunal.

however, they approved the International War Crimes Tribunal in The Haag, Holland, for war crimes commited in Yugoslavia and Ruanda.

is it possible that USA is above the laws, and more precisely, above the international laws.

It is very likely that hye does have WMD's. I do not believe that gives us a right to go around attacking and taking over every country that has WMD's. Besides that is just an excuse, if not that it would be something else.

First this war was because Saddam was behind 9/11, then it was because he was within a year of having Nukes that he would surley use on us, then it was because he was in vioaltion of UN Resolutions ( We now say that what the UN says is worthless - but want to go to war because Saddam is saying the same thing ??????????????? ). Next, this war was to Liberate the Iraqi people. The pro war crowd cant even make up their minds as to WHY we are going to war.

take your pick they're all good reasons. i believe saddam and his son could turn out to be worse than hitler if they get nukes.

saddam invaded kuwait and had plans to take saudi arabia. if he gets nukes and threatens other countries in the region and europe they would be sure to start crying and drag the US into the conflict then. i much rather take care of the problem now.

if the world tribunal in holland, for exemple, is no good, than why they dont allow all those prisoners to go home.

if all dictators should be attacked and thrown down by armed forces, then UK should be attacked as well. why ?

well, because i live in canada, and all canadian laws stil have to be approved by the Queen of England. I feel that she dictates what Canada can or can not do.

They will simply move on to another argument and deny they were ever wrong. Period. That's why I am trying to stop responding to them. I think it's like most sports radio shows are doing now. They get someone on there who speaks with reason and facts and then they will have someone on there to take the other side, just for ratings. I think many of these Liberals are just looking for attention. For example, John Kerry - who the hell was this guy until he started ripping Bush.
