I think when after all is said and done, Bobby Knight is still "COACH." I'm glad he came back after Indiana, many thought he never would, and thought he was through. Like him or not, he got the better of them (Indiana).

he took over a team with a 9-19 (.311) record and 11th in the big 12, and guided to 3 twenty win seasons in a row for the first time in school history.

People said he done and he couldnt fit there in the middle of nowhere. Personally i think it would do guys like Ron Artest good to spend a week with this guy.

general and I were just talking the other day, its just not the same not seeing him patroling the sidelines in his red sweater, say what you want, the guy runs a clean program, where the kids graduate, and you are successful EVERY YEAR.......

He is one of the few "old school" coaches left, and it pains me every time i see him in black...

Watching Knight vs Keady, Knight vs Henson, Knight vs Dr Tom Davis, those were some good matchups.....

People never seemed to notice, but Keady was more audible, more animated, and more argumentative than Knight ever was....But he never had the same problems.....

However his coaching career is coming to an end sooner, and a much more mediocre record than the General has compiled.....

You know what has always amazed me about the "allegations" about Coach Knight....and i am not trying to bring up a whole good vs bad argument, but we all know he was tough with officials, we could see that....We all know he through the chair, we could see that, but those are a lot different than physically abusing a player by choking him, or the "supposed" altercation with a student in the althletics area (the last time)....

But this is a campus full of students......If you were a student, and your "friend" were choked by the coach, how long would it take you to let every other student you know, know about it? and for their friends to know about it, and wouldnt you HATE the coach....? wouldnt u want him gone for choking a student? fighting with a student?....it would be students vs faculty....

Yet, check out the replay of Knights parting speech at IU, and look at the faces on the students, and the number of kids there.....they wouldn't be there if their "friend" was choked, etc......

I still to this day think those incidents were exxagerated due to his "reputation",and think he was "targeted" by many......

Bottom Line, the kids graduated, the program was clean, no kids ever arrested for raping g'f/s, drugs, point shaving, drunk driving, NOTHING......

I love that Coach Knight hates the recruiting publications that rank players and thinks the whole idea is ridiculous. How he can go find a Ronald Ross and develop him into an all Big 12 type player and the guy had 0 hype in high school.

I don't know, General. You may be right, but I'm not so sure. The guy obviously has some serious issues. After many slip ups, he was told that there was going to be no tolerance for anything. A man of that age should have the maturity to walk away from a situation like the one that he was fired for. I have a lot of respect for him and find myself rooting for him. But at the same time, how hard is it to treat people with common courtesty?.....something he doesn't do when dealing with the media.

I agree....ESPN is what did KNIGHT in.....ESPN is a media scource just like CBS,CNN, NBC, FOX....all of them

Everyone thinks ESPN is loyal because they cover sports. They are the ones who enticed him to get fired up, and use the "F" bomb all over there network, and then make a Brian Dennhey sh!t movie about him, that depicted him as a demented crazy man, who was vulger.

Coach K at Duke turned out OK, and the many others under his mentoring.

He does use the "F" bomb, too much, but ESPN over sensitized this part of him, and his fate was sewn in the MEDIA

I would root for that guy and his team anytime I can. Talk about DEVOTED.......you wll never find a more devoted person to one cause, then BOBBY KNIGHT teaching young boys how to be men, and UNDERSTAND the game of BASKETBALL
