When you work for yourself, 10 hour days are short days.
You just keep plugging away and wait to see how it feels in 20 years.

I worked 355 days at 12hr shifts. The only time I had off was the R&R to Hong Kong.
I've also worked 3 mid shifts (12-8am), come back the afternoon of the 3rd day and start 3 swing shifts (4pm to midnight), followed by the very next morning 3 day shifts (8am to 4pm). Did this for 60 straight days no time off.

tax season I work about 90 consecutive days, I collapse on April 16th (although I work around UConn hoops)

I play a lot the rest of the year, work less then many overall, except when I really have to (like now until 10/15, especially this year)

I work 12 consecutive days at one point every month (I usually have to work the 2nd or 3rd weekend of each month). I generally will take one of those days and just come home, eat dinner, do a couple of things around the house and go to sleep about 2-3 hours earlier than usual...I'd do this around the 8th day. I run around 2000+ miles per year, so that's time consuming. I'll take at least that 1 day off from running.

Other than that, life is too short to work yourself to death. Dudes that wear their work on their sleeve as a badge of honor...are basically dumbass's. Go enjoy life.....

I too work for myself and launched two companies in the same market place in a 6 month period... Hit a 28 day 5 city swing for conventions and meetings with dealers. NY, Boston, Philly, Phoenix, and Anaheim.... I am from Mississippi and I have never been so glad to see the oak trees on my property in my life.. The day after I got back I turned my phone off and didn't check my email.

As an owner you work everyday and its different for everyone... I am lucky to have a good partner and people.... As for myself I unplug and refresh about 4-6 days a month and it helps my productivity a ton.... I'm not married so I'm in by 630 and get home from 6-8 at night. When we first started 15-18 hour days were the norm
