Colon yesterday, today Wells, now Lackey.

What happened to the Tall slender power houses, like Randy Johnson.

Your average guy on the street is one fat fuk, esp. in the good ol US of A. How would it be that pitchers waistlines would be any different? Besides, how much running does a pitcher, esp. in the AL, ever have to do?

Randy is the "Big Unit". Yeh you're right, plenty of fat guts out there. I was commenting on that just today to someone who was watching the Bosox game with me. That wasn't just Manny's shirt hanging out of his pants as well! You would think that some of these guys making over 10 million dollars a year would spend at least an hour in the weight and training room daily. If my living depended on the shape of my body I would certainly be stuffing my face with healthy salads instead of Double Whoppers with cheese.

Why should it be different? Well maybe because they are professional ATHLETES!

Heh.

Give me Miccky Lolich any day. Lots of great pot-bellied pitchers.

Most deal prob don't care. If you can throw a moving and HARD Fastball or a killer breaking ball, they prob can care less about the weight, etc. Colon is one ugly fat looking bama but damn he throws HARD..

Oh Ponson is so awful. He has cost me so many greenbacks. Poor Baltimore fans.

I've always maintained that most pitchers aren't athletes. In fact, I'd say most pitchers, first basemen and full-time DHs aren't athletes.

even some skinny guys...Pedro isn't exactly athletic....and his skinny ass brother Ramon? My Gradma was more athletic than him when she was 60....

Lackey's not that big a guy, come on now...and look at Jenks (Sp?) for the chisox, guy straight brought the heat...who cares about their weight. these guys are still ATHLETES, their weight/body type doesnt reflect how fit they really are. Clemens doesnt look like a thin guy by any stretch, bet he could run 10+ more miles than any of us could at any given time.
