"I read and write Spanish and read the La Nacion everyday. These tremors are far more frequent these past 6 months than in the last 5 years or so"

In the last 25 years (which is as far back as I can remember) there are always "seasons" when they get more common and times when you don't get one in months. Again NOTHING out of the ordinary, if you read closely there are different and completely unrelated causes for the tremors, example the most recent one can be local fault lines, the one before that one, tectonique (sp?) places as far away as Panama etc

There are also people that "swear" that they are related to the weather, obviously that's nonsense. (BTW the theory is that the hotter it gets the more likely it is to get one, they say the same thing every April )

I would rather have a HUGE snow storm, it would get rid of a few undesirable characters outside who are "guarding?" your cars and trying to steal a freaking lightbulb

Earthquakes may not be correlated with weather, but they are strongly correlated with tides. Abnormally high/low tides have much greater frequency of earthquakes (which also correlate with a new moon and full moon). So forget the weather man and grab a tide chart.
