why in the hell would bush "purposely trash" the country so that the stock market would go way down by the time Obama took over? Since markets always fluctuate up and down, you're really saying he laid the groundwork for BHO to look like a hero when the market rebounds, which it of course will.

i dont think bush knew what the hell he was doing, which was apparent by the shape were in now, which is why the market dropped. not because obama was elect, but because bush was still president making decisions, which the market responded to in a negative way.

I have a few clients who are i financial industry. Own or up in their company, they all told me that when "the messiah" was elected they all dislike to a man and every one they do biz with all dislike "the messiah".
He told me they knew what he stood for, who he was, and what he would do.
Told me that they thought BO would try and make things bad so he could take over as much as he could. Told me that BO has not a clue about financial markets and that he is an academia who has never been involved in the real world of business..

When I lived in Brazil and it was apparent that Lula was going to be elected do you know what happened? The same thing that went on here except worse... People started to take their money out of the country because they did not trust him and his socialist ways... He was elected much the same way BO was, Made lots of promises that he could never keep, made class warfare...
