Going for the first time, leave later this week and Ill there for a week. Looking for some fun things to do.

We know we are doing the tourist things like Coca Cola, CNN, Aquarium, and 6Flags.... but looking for something different... My fiance and I are easy going and have fun doing almost anything.

We are staying in Buckhead and don't have a car. We are relying on public transportation.

Also, have no list of places to eat. Again, not picky, like almost anything. Feel free to suggest everything including hole in the wall places which usually turn out to be our favorite every time we visit somewhere..

Thanks guys:103631605

You're a laid back guy then eat at "bones" . My favorite place in Atl. Lagrada is good but a little more foo foo ish.

When u go to 6 flags spend the extra money and get the "flash pass" that gets you to the front of the lines. trust me on that.

dress cool at 6 flags bc its hot as a mf right now.

I'd skip the aquarium, but thats just me.

Thank Stinky... I actually had a thread last year, and I remembered you telling me about the flash pass. We put it in the budget

I want to skip the aquarium but girl loves that stuff, begged to get the zoo off the to do list... at least the aquarium is inside....

I HATE the heat... Hope the humidty isn't as bad later in the week, or ill be looking for indoor things all week.

Go to little 5 points and hit the Vortex. Don't know if you are into beer, but that place is cool, as is little 5 points, more grunge, but a cool area. I believe The Flying Biscuit is there also, good grub.

Underground Atlanta is cool too.

Man, been a while since I have beent here, but that use to be my old stomping ground about once a month.

Have fun, buckhead is a nice area

2 places to recommend, 1 of which is a must.

The first is Spondivit's. It's the first exit north of the airport (assume you'll be flying into ATL). Get the shrimp bucket. Great spice blend they use with the shrimp - and the shrimp are huge. Any of the seafood buckets are great but the shrimp is the way to go.

The next is Dreamland BBQ. There are 2 stores in the ATL area. Not sure which one is closer to Buckhead, but if you can make it there at all, do so. Best RIBS I've ever had - and with all the travel I do (hell, I'm in Irving, TX right now as I right this) I hit as many Rib joints as I can and nothing beats the ribs at Dreamland.

Which one is a must???? Dreamland, though Spondivitis is great, and with the restaurant being as close to the airport as it is you can probably get there pretty easily as compared to Dreamland - but if you can make Dreamland do it. You won't regret it.

I need more fun things todo. We are going to a comedy club tonight. Also we need a chill spot in buckhead... Maybe a place that has cornhole or pool table, anything.

My favorite place when visiting was "The American Pie" on Rosewell Road. It is a huge place but not in a meat market type of way. On Friday's it was always packed and if people watching is your thing this place will keep you occupied for hours. I have not been there in a few years so I assume it is still there. The Lakewood Ampitheatre used to have shows just about every weekend during summer months.
