Have a fixed bankroll annually that you can afford that you will not go beyond.

Try to take as many $10 - $20 - $30 -$40 - $50 wagers from anyone you can, use closing lines at scoresandodds.com. That way you dont even have to talk to anyone or update your lines and everyone can check on what numbers they have from the computer. They can email them prior to tip off, or call a voice mail prio to tip off. Office workers, guys at happy hour, friends of friends, You will be surprised how many people will give you a few plays each week, keep it friendly and simple. Encourage 2 team parlays people like the bet them pay 12.5-5. It helps to be getting some overlays on those +110 wagers and holding 2 team parlays. Use only profits from these wagers to get started on your own.

Bankroll/Money management. Take your entire amount that if you were to lose it all, it wouldn't change your lifestlye or cause any hardships. Divide it by 100 and never risk more than that on anything (1%). That will keep you in the game a long time if you can't pick better than 52.4% (laying 110 of course). If you can pick better than 52.4% you will see your profits roll. Keep a journal with all of your bets in it and take inventory at the end of every week.

I wish someone had given me this advice when I started

I was 20 years old and I won $4000 in a poker game in one night(mostly luck).
Anyway, the next night I took a bunch of my freinds out. Limo, fancy restaurant, bar hopping, Dom Perignon plus tips...total damge $2500.

The next day, im pissed at myself for blowing so much money. I decided to go back to this social club and win more money. Needless to say, I lose the remaining $1500 plus another $1000 of mine....goodnite Irene.

The point is, forget the highs and lows and try to keep it even.
And for god sakes, dont play the BIGSHOT!!!

dont be influenced by sports talk radio or any media hype especially during football season. unsure bettors fall for that faster than anything. after that the chasing begins and within weeks they need rehab.this place has its share of clowns but ive come to know some incredibly sharp handicappers here and ive learned alot from asking questions.im thankfull your all here. in honor of dantes post about why people sign thier posts i wont sign mine:>Grin> .

Be a student of the game... test angles & theories, prove and disprove your feelings on angles. Stick with what works, even through a dry spell.
