sally you sure you dont mean the band new england 'dont ever wanna lose you' maybe your beltone ear aid was on low volume???
OH HELL NO, thats an
AWESOME SONG. New England '
Dont Ever Wanna Lose You'
....backed by KISS, (very much how BadFinger was "backed" by Beatles) New England is said to have even been "discovered" by....I believe Paul Stanley....of KISS.
In '79 (when I was very young) I thought New England
WAS KISS just without the makeup...a suspicion totally supported by the enigmatic way the video for the song you mention got filmed...So INTENTIONALLY NOT showing band member's faces...filming instead their feet and only fog-eclipsed blurred out silhouettes.
Theres some who'd argue that the one guitarist shown in the fog
is OBVIOUSLY ACE FREHLEY and I would support their case enthusiastically cuz the nose is a dead giveaway.
I still am, 35 years later here, far from convinced than Peter Criss, Ace and Paul Stanley were NOT actually in that band. Song sounds A
LOT like what Ace did on his first Solo album, is totally Ace's Solo "style"and the composition is very obviously what ACE would produce and the lyrics/theme of those is very similar to "Beth"...a huge Kiss song written by Paul...this is KISS....
if Gene Simmons had NO input whatsoever.
I suspect that Gene wouldn't allow NE music to be done under KISS cuz he felt it was too wimpy so Ace & Paul & Peter went and recorded as NE...tiny tiny chance thats accurate though, more probably "Don't Ever Wanna Lose You" was actually an Paul Stanley/Peter Criss/Ace Frehley song though that Gene being Gene would not allow recorded as KISS . IMO anyways.
Contradicting my theories though is the guys actually "known" and pretty much acknowledged...as being the actual band members of New England. I don't personally know how MUCH these guys are KNOWN to have, beyond a shadow of a doubt...comprised New England. Likely many folks in Massachusetts do.
Puzzling too if in fact NE was really 3/4 of KISS cuz "Beth" was so huge and made
a very clear lane for such a song to be recorded by KISS...
I'm pretty sure they were on KISS's same label...Casablanca (Niel Bogart)...
Patriots need to switch to that song ASAP, Divine Providence here.
I'm stunned you even
know of that song let alone the band who did it. Hardly anyone does.
That song literally
changed my life, no exaggeration. Theres not alot of lyrics and the depth of emotion/degree of expression accomplished with so few words was a"game changer" for me.
