Well, although I didn't watch the game tonight, I know for a fact that our good friend Al Michaels does indeed bet. You can take that to the bank that he bets. How much? I could make a guess and am sure my guess won't be too off. Another guy that bets for sure is Chris Berman. How much do they both bet?
Al Michaels bets between 50-100 a game
Chris Berman bets between 20-50 a game
And the highest bettor of them all, is DEFINITELY ...........
Brent Musburger at 500- 2000 a game. This is one sick man..
i maybe wrong, but i believe if these guys were found to be betting on sports they would lose their jobs. so i highly doudt anyone of them actually do.
michaels just knows the number because he seems to no everything about every game he announces. i just wonder if michaels has filled madden in on his gambling comments, as madden always seems bewildered by what michaels is talking about when he makes a gambling reference.
i remember the pitt. game last year, and madden was saying "does anyone really care if pitt. scores." and michael is like " i can say there are many, many, people that care." of course the td. would put the game over.
LAST YEAR, the comments are made every game and it's why half the viewers are still watching at that point. It's half the fun looking for the spread and over under references.
Ridiculous stuff. Al passes around the betting banter just because he is a realist and knows that a large part of the viewing audience are gamblers. Think of how Harry Caray would spend half the game saying so and so from Iowa dropped by to say hello, well this is Al's modest approach to give a shout to them. He never mentions the line or gambling in so many words, as the NFL would frown on that. Saying something like "that wasn't an earthquake you felt in Vegas" is brilliant stuff, he doesn't violate policy. The whole fact Madden gets on him is probably because Madden has a coach mentality and coaches absolutely hate gambling and the spread.
He doesn't bet, remember Chet Forte, let it get out that Al bets on Games he broadcast's, ABC would have to fire him, heck the NFL forced ESPN to dump Playmakers, how would it look it the top announcer is betting the games
First, I would say Al Michaels only betting $25-$50 per game is ludicrous......It's much, much, higher with the dough he has. Second, Madden doesn't discuss gambling, because just like so many other things, John has no clue!

Probably not, but I didn't think Kobe would risk all his millions for some anal sex either.
