The Roland Hemond (ex MLB GM) era in Baltimore was at best lousy, and with trades like this gem, it was no wonder the Orioles fell to the bottom of the highly competitive American League East...

One that still stings to this day here in Baltimore, the Orioles sent to Houston;

Pete Harnish
Curt Schilling
Steve Finley

Houston, we most definitely have a problem!?

In return Baltimore received Glenn Davis, who in the National League was a fairly succesful power hitter, and given the fact he was doing major damage in the cavernous Astrodome, it wasn`t all that earth shattering at the time....but it didn`t take long to see GLENN DAVIS` best years were all behind him....

Meanwhile CURT SCHILLING is still one of the top 5 pitchers in the game today, Pete Harnish had some decent years, and Steve Finley has had a very fine big league career....

And Glenn Davis is somewhere watching reruns of HeeHaw, retired for over 10 years now...

Anyone have a worse trade than that?

herschel walker for 9 players/draft choices

pedro guerrero for bruce ellington (or ellingson)

pedro martinez for deline deshields

kobe bryant for vlade divac

eric lindros for (among others) peter forsberg, draft choices and $15M (i think we can all agree lindros for forsberg straight up is an awful deal - but toss in the extras - YIKES!)

and i know i have just hit the tip of the iceberg and others will chime in. i also know the celtics pulled some legendary heists of their own (to get players like bill russell and robert parrish)

Hershel Walker for SEVEN players and FOUR draft picks...Three years later the Cowboys had 7-8 of those players on the B2B Super Bowl team.

Pistons send a 24-year-old Dave Debusshere to the Knicks for Howie Komives and an over-the-hill 34-year-old Walt Bellamy.

The Herschel Warker one has to be the worst one ever.

Right along with that, how about when Mike Ditka coached the Saints and gave away a whole draft to get Ricky Williams. Granted, Ricky Williams is doing pretty well now but having him on the Saints was a waste.
