That's allofmp3. The songs are 1-3 cents each. They have most every major CD from the past 10 years and new releases get added quickly.

They have 1000's of members... They're legit.

Consistant fast downloads, easy searching, stand-alone client, and multiple bitrates.

World Runner, thanks for the info, I appreciate it.

1-3 cents? I was looking for free, but I would consider that free. I'm going to check it out now. Thanks again.

Ahh...then you need to learn how to use bittorrent. I'm not explaining it LOL.

I hate the pay sites because they all are greedy and won't agree on one format. Sucks if you want to get a player, you basically spend hundreds of dollars and then are forced to buy music from only one site or else not get to use the music. I bought a $180 MP3 player, but turns out it won't allow any paid music to be added. How stupid is that? So if the RIAA wants to *****, I will be glad to point out to them I would pay for music, but my investment on a player would be wasted. So either tell the industry to get on one standard like it should be, or leave us alone.

But truly the paid services are so much easier. How many times do you have to download what you think is a song on Kazaa until you get the real version? Some songs you can figure out which one is legit and which are faked, but not always. In all the whole music buying experience is so f-ed up, I have lost a lot of interest in new music in general.

Check out www.zeropaid.com . You can download ALL of the file sharing programs from there. Do NOT download any of them if they contain spyware/adware.

Personally, I'd recommend LimeWire Pro (no spyware). It can be found at www.phazeddl.com . Another choice of mine is Warez (no spyware), SoulSeek (no spyware), or Shareaza (no spyware).

Enjoy!

You need to get Kazaa Lite . It's the same thing as Kazaa but with all the spyware taken out. Do a google newsgroup search for it; someone usually posts a link for it there.

Also, for Napster that $9.99 charge is not required. It's only if you want to "upgrade" to their premium service. This will let you download an unlimited number of songs to your computer. Only thing is you can't transfer it to an MP3 player or anything, can only listen to the songs on your computer. It's still an OK deal though.

edit: They may have changed to pay site like you stated. Back when I was a member that 9.99 was for the optional service. But the site looks different now. Too bad.

Tip - under the search bar where you put the artist and/or title there is a button - mp3 audio any bit rate. Click that on and click mp3 audio from the pull down. Go over and click bitrate at least 128. That will clean up all the junk.
