They haven't decided whether to bring charges against her yet. Last news was that they had subpoenaed four congressional staffers who supposedly witnessed the "altercation".

Too bad that a black woman harmlessly slapping a police officer is cause for a grand inquisition, while lying about the implications of "intelligence" in order to start a war goes basically unpunished.

One of the biggest crimes in our society is that certain parts of our government are held blameless no matter how messed up they get.

Agreed. Government is basically above the law. Transgressions that occur while carrying out "government business" seem to go unpunished, regardless of their severity. IMO misdeeds done by any politician in the course of governing should be punished MORE severely than crimes committed by "civilians".

Rightttttttt.....yep until proof of implication about lying about questionable intelligence is totally satisfied by elements of the left...no one should be investigated for "harmlessly slapping a police officer ".

Now how fucking stupid is that statement?

No more fucking stupid than someone who supports a useless war that kills American soldiers calling himself "Pat Patriot". No more fucking stupid than someone who calls himself "Joe Contrarian" having the same opinion on every issue.

The point is that more effort is put into investigating a misdemeanor assault charge than the causes for starting a war that has killed tens of thousands.

Ebu:

"The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."

The true comparison to be made is the one inspired by Quantumleap's commentary. My example was merely one of convenience. Let's take it to its extreme for hypothetical purposes, however.

If McKinney is found guilty, let's say of a felony since her bitchslap involved a police officer, she could do time in the can for her personal conduct.

If it were PROVEN beyond reasonable doubt that Bush/Cheney/Rice/Rumsfeld/Wolfowitz/Powell had deliberately lied about Iraq WMD in order to sway a congressional vote on a war resolution, what's the worst that would happen to them? Basically nothing, other than losing their jobs and reputations.

In my humble opinion abuse of political influence is much, much worse than any type of common thuggery, yet politicians get a pass for just about anything they do in the name of politics. I would like to string up all politicians everywhere and start over again. :drink:

Agree or disagree that opinion is a hell of a lot better than this

Agreed Edub said his piece quite eloquently.

Slapping a police officer has a history of infomy any one remember Zsa Zsa Gabor?

On June 14, 1989, Zsa Zsa was accused of slapping the face of a Beverly Hills police officer when he stopped her for a traffic violation. She was found guilty of the assault in a well-publicized trial and sentenced to three days in jail (and required to pay $13,000 in court costs)

Edub is politicizing national security, again. Long before "Bush/Cheney/Rice/Rumsfeld/Wolfowitz/Powell" came along, Saddam was in violation of the UN's own laws. As always, liberals try to muddy the waters in the name of their irrational political agenda, playing politics with the lives of Americans.

Disgusting! :puke1:

was speaking about physical harm, I am assuming she didn't do too much damage to him. And I doubt a DC cop is too psychologically scarred by some crazy old woman trying to bitchslap him. That shit probably happens to him daily on the DC subway.

Typical left wing bs!

What about Scooter Libby and the Valerie Plumb leak? What about all of the rest of the accusations that ended up being groundless - oh, and remember this number 403-3; in case you forgot, that's the House vote after Murtha said we should withdraw from Iraq - even your representatives in the House voted for continuing the war - so puleez, don't feed us your regurgitated crap!
