Is it how much you buy in for? how much you play each hand for? or how long you play?

Reason I asked is I asked the pit boss to get comped at the buffet last night ($26.99) and he asked how much I bought in for at the table? (wtf?) I told him $3,000 and he said give him 2 mins and it would be taken care of.

Just wondering how it's done and what it takes to get a room.:toast:

use a player's card, and they will know this stuff in advance.

A room depends where, big difference between say Wynn and Fremont hotels.

Probably not too high end a place ( IDK), I assume its connected with Binions in LV ?

I'd guess playing BJ at $10-25 ( preferably higher like 25-100) a hand for 5+ hours might about meet minimal requirements for a room ( esp. if you lose). I'm guessing the room at about $35-45 midweek. I might be a bit low with the estimate ? Buying in for $1,000 + in one shot might perhaps help get you noticed. Lose it, they probably give you the room. :):)

I'm confident that if you played BJ with green ( $25) chips as your minimum bet for 5 hours, they'd comp this room, unless you are identified as a card counter.

JMO, never been there ! Esp, in your buying in for 3 dimes, like you initially stated.

What if you don't frequent Vegas, but call a few of the casinos there and tell them you usually travel to the Bahamas, or somewhere else, and get comped rooms, but would like to try out Vegas this time instead. Would they offer anything?

Very possibly, esp. if you wired them 5-10 K before arrival, but I've never done this.

It's average hand amount times # of hours.

I can only tell you about nice places on the strip, but at the nicer joints -

$25/hand for 4 hours gets buffet/cafe
$50/hand for 4 hours per day gets casino rate rooms
$100/hand for 4 hours per day gets room
$150-200/hand for 4 hours per day gets RFB (room, food, drink, shows, whatever)
More gets suites, private pools, hookers, etc

$300 per hand for 2 hours is the same as $150 for 4.

Those numbers are for blackjack. It varies a bit by game - roullette, less money gets comps, craps, more money gets comps.

If you are going somewhere new, either a host that will vouch for your play or wiring $5k or so gets you in free.

Don't forget, you have to ask if you have any comps available before they will give them to you. Don't be afraid to ask, especially if you've been playing a lot per hand and for quite a while.

I play Pai Gaw (cards). Game is hard to win or lose at. Can't recall ever veering to far from the break even point.

I choose a night and play for 5-8 hours at 100 a hand. Typically with friends, just play and drink all the while.

Keeps me in their system, they being Wynn, Mirage, Hilton (this place kind of sucks though, off the strip, nice sports book though). Have not paid for a room in 5-8 years. No black out times. I get coupons in the mail stating my comp rooms and other things, sometimes a shirt, comp dinners (restaurant, not buffet). Including all hoidays, march madness, Kentucky Derby.

Not like I go all that often anymore, usually 3-4 times a year now. Used to be more though.

I know this game isn't the best of games, but, sort of worked out for me to simply pass time, get rated, and stay in the system. I always lose at all the other casino games. This one I'm able to win or lose an insignificant amount over a several hour period of time.

Sports get you nothing. Even if you bet 1000 a pop, almost not worth the hassle. Gets you nothing. At least in these places.

The $60 room certainly looks nice for the price. Motel6 is $45 in my area.

I'd think they would comp it for some decent action, maybe $50/hand for 4-5 hours, taking Sean's post into consideration.

You're Better off Paying the $60 for the room, out of Pocket...Than Play long enough to pay for it.

Use your Comps for Meals

Just My 2 cents :drink:

depends if your playing just to get the room, or would do it anyway.

certainly don't push the action for getting the comp.

no mention is made about if 1968 is a winning player ( as in card counter), or not....that's your only real shot to be +EV at a table game, other than poker, and poker players don't generally get comped suites.
