people like unemployment. I can not tell you the number of people we have offered jobs to who say..nah I will just stay on unemployment. I would love to spearhead a way to report these people to unemployment for refusing work that matches their skill and money. It is truly disgusting. Especially in PA!

As I said we are offering them jobs that are at or VERY close to what they were making in their field of work/expertise. I am not talking about offering a forklift job to an accountant. that is assinine. My point is if someone was making $13/hr and a permanent job is offered at 12-13 an hour and they make a comment like "I will stay on unemployment" that is the shit that needs to be reported. Many states have exhorbatant unemeployment benefits that usually entice the $25k-$35K person to stay on unemployment. There is no sense in offering a job to an overqualified person because everyone knows the first offer that comes in he/she is gone.
Did I clear up my point?
Can part-timers draw unemployment? That is, employees working 20-25 hrs a week?

Well $12 is 25K bozo so $12-$17/HR (soory for not being really specific) but it is the same. They are not streaming in as you elegantly put it. The resumes are posted online, with salary required, they are called ask what it pays and say no "not interested" . People have become prima-donnas. All I was commenting on was YES there are jobs available. College degree, good work history, and you can find a job. Of course the 70-100K jobs are hard to find but the majority of workers in the US make between 25K-50K. I could go on for hours describing workers attitudes and how people are "desperate to work" yet when asked if they can start immediately (and are told before interviews) respond with "my cat died yesterday and I am not in a frame of mind to start tomorrow can I start in 2 weeks?" Or start the first day and call out sick the next..I could go on for hours. Anyone in the staffing industry knows exactly what I am talking about. And to further clarify we work in the Real Estate, Financial and Banking industry not Mickey Dees as you so eloquently stated.
