Do you sit on your couch all day and watch college football from sunrise to sunset?

Do you live at or near a college town where part of your college football Saturday includes attending each home game?

Also, I'd be interested to know if you use a local, online, or if ya live, drive, fly to Vegas to bet?

... Kind of a weird thread to start I suppose, but I am curious and I think it's interesting what other RX'ers do? ... cheers and gl in '11 @)

I'll start. I'm a hybrid. I'm live in SoCal rt now and will fly or drive out to Vegas 4 or 5 times in the fall (always Week 1) ... But, most weeks I'll just stare at the HD TV and rotate between games from 6AM in the morning for College Gameday till 11PM for the last PAC 12 game or WAC game ends. I hope I'm not the only one who does this. haha. And then I'll go to one or two games a year, I'll rotate between USC, UCLA, and SDSU.

I try to get my bets in online during the week at a line I like. My Saturdays are usually pretty hectic, especially home games.

Home games: Walk down to the stadium usually around 3 hours before the game. Try to catch a little bit of Gameday in the morning. Usually watch the 330 CBS SEC game or the ESPN night game depending what time our game is.
Away games in attendance: Don't get to watch a lot of games outside of the one I am going to. Most of the day is spent tailgating. Usually bring the TV with the rabbit ears to watch some of the other games during the tailgate.
Away games / bye weeks: My ass is on the couch with some beer all day watching games all day.

Home weeks I wake up early and go set up a huge tailgate in Oxford..... 2 TVS.... Were all degenerate gamblers...... We will tailgate all day and go to stadium 30 min before gametime.... If we play at between 1-4 we will stay after our game and watch ESPN football that night.... I love tailgating....TVS, washers, corn hole, ladder golf and horse shoes... BUT I love off weeks toooo.... Wake up and watch College gameday and then go to my sisters house and watch fballl alll day and even the West Coast late games...With my Bro in Law ( I actually like the guy). My sister will always order pizza and cook up some damn fine wings ( les miles). My bro in law is one in the "investment group " that we do..... So we watch very close and make some bets...... I always say from the first weekend in September till the end of Bowl Season is like Christmas.... Every Saturday is Christmas.... I live in thye central time zone..... Go to One big road game a year.... Im 29 and have been every Stadium in the SEC except for Kentucky and SOuth Carolina...... Dude I love college football games, recruiting, tailgating, media days and whatever else there is.

This is a great thread. I live in Charleston, so I'm pretty close to Columbia. When SoCar has a home game, I'm usually in Columbia in Williams-Brice. However, as much as I love sitting in the Columbia heat, I love just as much the days where I sit on my couch from sun up to sun down watching football. I usually wake up fairly early and get my college fantasy lineup set, then lay any action I want to lay, get some food going for the day, and then settle in for a long day of football. I really really REALLY love the lazy Saturdays without the chaos of tailgating and cooking where I can watch football all day. I go ahead and setup all my favorites on the tv so I can cycle through on commercials. I have a whole system setup. I can not WAIT until the days get shorter, the breeze off the pluff mud in the creek behind my house starts to blow and I can open the windows and scream at the tv all day. DAMN I love it. Also, I travel to some away games, and before I die I want to see every SEC stadium. I've got four left (Arkansas, Auburn, Kentucky, and Miss St.).

I am also from Southern California and am a USC Season Ticket Holder. I rarely go to the games, opting to give my tickets to friends, family, or employees instead. I do not like College Game Day at all, except the final 10 minutes, so I will start watching that at around 8:45 a.m. Then I will watch all of the early games and most of the afternoon games out here (3:30-5:00 EST). The number of games that I watch in the evening depend on what I have planned for that evening. So I can watch anywheres between 8 and 16 games on a Saturday. I have a set up that allows me to watch 3 games at a time, if necessary, though I much prefer to concertrate on one, or maybe two.

Well you got your chance this year to go to Ark and Miss St., but trust me you arent missing much. I will be there in attendance again this year.

Saturdays in the fall is why they have mancaves. I watch as many games as I can with as many as 5 TV's going at a time.
People drop by, bring food, we grill, and watch the Sooners whenever they are on TV. I like to make 1st and 2nd half bets so I stay pretty focused. Despite cussing them from time to time the scoring scroll on ESPN is the greatest tool a college football fan could ask for. I can easily spend 12 or more hours on any given saturday watching, eating, and betting and in the off season I am like a fish out of water. Life is good.

Yeah I know. Only thing is, I'm starting my last semester of law school this fall, ergo I'm still broke as hell so I don't have money to go to any away games except for the opener in Charlotte. Hopefully when I'm a practicing attorney I'll be able to travel more. But probably not. Student loan debt sucks.

These are all great reads, I'm glad this thread has gained traction. The SEC is well represented in this thread I see. Love to hear about the tailgating that goes on down South, it's definitely one of the best game day atmospheres. Also, love to hear that I'm not the only one who can go 12 + hours straight watching collegiate football non-stop in a "man-cave" or wherever. There truly is no better time in the year than Saturday's during college football season. Especially I feel for the first 4 weeks (non-conference games); where you can get some of the most interesting match-ups and where I believe the biggest linemakers errors occur. gl in '11

"Chase" - classic. I thought chase day was Sunday! Anyway, your records from past season say different.

For the past 3-4 years, I've won a good bit on weekday games and given it back (more often than not) on Saturday...

So - Two TV sets going as well as the computer for monitoring the RX and the halftime lines as well as a cell phone for my local who is a bit slow on the upswing now and then when a line dips or the sharp books pour the juice on one side! I usually make it to one or two home games a year for UNC and UGA.

Always awake late-nite chasing on that Hawaii game!

At first, I had no interest in this thread. After reading through it....I find it fun and interesting. We all have our own little routines and its kinda fun to see what different folks do on Saturday game day. Especially hardankle CFB lovers here at RX.

Up between 5:00 and 5:30. Make coffee and go get the paper. (lots of Alabama and Auburn information) read paper and drink coffee.

Next, hit the computer and start looking at lines.....I like to bet my personal plays late (15 to 30 minutes before kickoff) so I follow lines all morning. (all day really)

By 10:AM two of my best friends come over and we start talking about games our group has decided on the night before.

After we get those games bet, I go back to my personal plays and watch ballgames all day and into the night. Our gang caps the night off playing cards and watching night games.

I go to one or two Bama games a year....use to go to all of them but now rather stay in and watch games all over the country. I love Saturdays.

Damn good thread.....sorry about my early pessimism.

Go to see ya back here buddy. Good luck this year....ya making the trip to gods country (aka Athens) this year?

On to the thread topic....I usually start my Saturdays at 2:00 Friday afternoon. Fire up the smokers, throw the butts on, and start capping with my usual group. Saturday wake up, place bets, get the bbq pulled and off to Athens or on road trips, get the man cave primed for the great all day event of COLLEGE PIGSKIN!!!

Great thread. It is getting me pumped up for the season.

I go to a lot of UCONN home games. So if I am going to a game, my buddies and I get to the tailgating lot as soon as they let us in (~7:45 for a noon game), set-up the gear, start grilling and start drinking. I use a local guy and he only takes action over the phone and only on the day of the game. So I usually place all my daytime action just before we head in to the stadium. Then call in my night action when I get home. Unfortunately I don't get to watch much night action as my wife will usually make me watch something horrible. I will have my computer on with ~5 games going on GameCast.

Now if I am not going to a game I get to watch a bunch of games. I still get up early to continue my research from the week on the internet. Once GameDay comes on I will turn that on. I am not a huge GameDay fan but it is nice to have on in the background in case something catches my attention. I call my day games in a little before noon and then watch the first quarter of a bunch of noon games. A little before halftime I will go out and tend to any yard work that needs to get done so that I am back in front of a tv by late 3rd quarter. This process repeats itself for the 3:30 games as well. The night games I am again stuck watching horrible tv with the wife. Luckily I still have my computer with me so I don't actually have to pay attention to whatever show we happened to be watching...or to her for that matter. :)

Dude, that's some funny stuff! I suggest you take your winnings this year and buy another TV. If ya don't have another room to put it in, a garage will work fine. Just my opinion.
