Well, I had a shitty weekend at 3-5.

1. Ohio State could hit every under this year
2. Hoke is who I thought he was!
3. Too many comebacks in the late 4th quarter to cap against
4. Wis. looks good.
5. Penn St. was tested and they failed.
6. Standford could make a great run

What about you?

I learned...

1. Stop betting when you are drunk!
2. Notre Dame is the best but worst football team ever
3. Tyler Bray and Tennessee are going to be a great football team this year
4. Northern Illinois defense sucks
5. Oklahoma St can win it all this year
6. It's not time to bet against TCU... the new tatooed ghetto looking QB actually is decent
7. The WAC is officially the worst conference in college football

1) Penn State really needs to recruit QB's ... no reason for a program that big to be throwing out guys like morelli, clark, mcgloin, and bolden for better part of the last decade. Seriously is Kerry Collins their last QB in NFL?
2) notre dame and michigan have no defense
3) pitt secondary far worse than I imagined...but can Iowa exploit it? I know ND can on 9/24
4) Oregon can put up #'s on anyone that doesn't play in SEC
5) denard robinson will throw 20 INT's this year
6) big east champs lose to sec's doormat...brutal conference
7) USC shouldn't be giving anyone more than a TD even if they did, sort of, cover
8) Thought my computer was broke when I clicked on "stats" and "total offense" and Washington State topped the list

In 2010 Wash St scored 235 points, they have already scored 123 in 2011.
UCF is the real deal.
Buffalo has an offense.
Nebraska's defense is awol.
GT can run AND throw
Kansas has something going on...finally.
Pitt's defense is awol.
Temple is moving right along.
Utah can flat out run the ball.

1) The Steelers cost me a great week as they couldn't even lose by 12 or less to complete a teaser that 2 College Teams Already Completed, A Team in the Super Bowl last year playing a rivalry game that is usually close had a -7 turnover margin in the game, not even the 85" Bears can overcome a -7 Tunrover Margin, they were really pathetic

2) Mississippi State can't take the next step up by winning SEC Road Games and is still Mississippi State despite their 9 Wins last year and huge Gator Bowl win

3) Brady Hoke has changed the culture of Michigan as I expected, although it will still take a little time IMO. Anybody that can make Ball State a powerhouse temporarily has to be good. He also turned around San Diego State with the help of Al and hires great coordinators.

4) Washington State is saying Jeff Tuel who?

5) Georgia Tech found their next DeMaryius "Bebe" Thomas just like 2009, WR Stephen Hill was projected to be just like him, but he's finally coming around this year after not living up to that title last year

6) Gene Chizik should play the Mega Millions or Powerball

Garrett Gilbert has no business playing QB

BYU is tremendously improved from last season, its not even close

BC is a bad team, start fading them now

Chizik has sold his soul, no doubt about it

Alabama defense is nasty and as long as their QB play doesnt fuck up its their NC

Wash St is no surprise

Memphis and UNLV should play each other

SMU's QB is an airhead

1. Madison (Wisconsin) will get a breath of fresh air from the Badgers after that nasty politics (Union Crap) that took place last Winter
2. Mark Richt is still on the "hot seat" in Athens and "Ugga" is really "pissed". They say he doesn't even want to come to the games anymore.
3. Toledo has become Ohio States new "natural Rival" replacing Michigan.
4. Look out for New Mexico State; they just "knocked-off" the Golden Gophers.
5. It appeared that Alabam didn't even work-up a sweat at "Happy Valley"...they look like the NC is their's to lose.
6. Auburn still has that "Gremlin" working for them in the rafters of the stadium....who is to say when will that win streak will end?
7. You have to give Standford credit. They travel "cross-country" and risk a jet-lag performance against an equally "brainey" Duke and still cover Big.

1.Notre Dame should just hand the ball off in the last 2 minutes of the game. And play prevent defense for the entire 4th quarter. Somebody must have put the "cherokee curse" on this team because all of the green and clover leaves in the world couldn't save them Saturday night.
2.Bama is the best team in the country. Like I thought they were. No luck needed here.
3.Penn St. is living on it's name alone. They are no longer a relevant BCS program.
4.Wisconsin hasn't played anybody yet.
5. Lane Kiffin can't coach, and was an incredibly bad hire by USC.
6.When they are playing right, Arizona St. may be one of the best two or three teams in the Pac-12. Unfortunately they are a bunch of juvenille deliquents on the field who look for ways to lose a game when they get the lead.
7.Texas will be living on the edge in about every game this year. Good defense, but a very young offense that will wake up in a new world every week. And benched Gilbert Grape had no business playing division 1 football in the first place..
8.Okie St. is a program on the way up. And don't look like their looking back.
9.Auburn: Defending national championship teams never fall quite as far as everybody thinks they will.
10.Would the real Minnesota team please stand up

I'm tellin ya. If they are still there after week 3 that would be phenomenal. If Tuel comes back in another month, they will pick it up in the 2H of the season even moreso as if they were starting all over again. Question is what can they do on the road and can their defense slow anyone down (other than UNLV.)

WSU's offense is better than I thought and I thought it would be pretty good.
UNLV is as bad as I thought and I'm glad because I need someone to fade every week.
USC still can't play worth a damn in the 2H and they are lucky they even won the game.
UCLA's morbid injury curse is now in Oregon State's possession but that won't help UCLA anyway.
Dennis Erickson should just go into the ghetto and recruit the crypts and bloods if he likes thugs so much.
Cal is just as dangerous as ever to bet them when they travel
Oregon will be OK
Stanford's replacements are getting on the job training and it's hard to tell that's what is happening.
Clancy Pendergast is human after all. (Cal's DC)
Larry Scott is the smartest man in CFB... and he's probably still learning the rules.

Agree with all but GT passing ability. Let's wait until they play in ACC before forming a true opinion here. Of all the above, Temple is the most surprising to me. I did feel they would take a step back.

I love this thread... we should set this up every week. It's good to see other peoples opinions on things that you don't get to watch yourself. Like I had no idea GT was good this year, because they are never on TV or on my radar here.

-UGA has a terrible offense (thanks CMR & Bobo), but a good run D. Play on against teams with bad Ds with a one dimensional running attack.
-Miss St is overrated.
-Bamas D is legit on maybe a pro level.
-Notre Dame can't finish & can't hang on to the ball.
-Stanford is great.
-Oregon will be a huge play on against weak competition.
-Jury needs to be out on the Big 10.
-Texas will suprise with young talent.
-Air Force has a really bad D.
-ECU has a good squad.

BYU is, as always, a mature squad (most players married, so as Coldweather might say - the poontang factor is not present any longer) that does not behave the way many college teams typically do. We are again reminded that these guys + points = money.

UNC's QB Bren Renner has a great arm but needs to work on his accuracy a lot and their are holes a plenty in the Tar Heel secondary. I would not lay DD on these guys again. Ever.

What I got from the ECU-Virignia Tech game is that VA TECH has a really good defense to hold East Carolina's potent offense to 112 yards on the road. That is extremely impressive IMO by the Hokies despite not covering the big line.

What I learned after taking a beating this weekend:
- ASU is Extremely talented and Awfully undisciplined.
- Arizona has stage fright. The mildcats don't like national tv.
- When USC's pups get more experience, they'll be very, very good.
- Auburn might be the luckiest team in Div 1
- Bama is really good defensively but they'll struggle in the SEC
- Wisky will roll in the BigTen. They are head and shoulders above the rest.
- Can we please stop hyping ND & Penn St. They are crumbling programs.
- It took Mack Brown 14 games to figure out GGilbert could not play QB when I saw it in 3 games.
- If Texas can't run the ball their season is done.
- If FSU loses to Oklahoma why should we care about ACC football?

Very true, but on that same token is the VT offense that bad? Piled up a lot of yards, but just seemed to have problems finishing the drives. Or do we say ECU has a good D? I think I will side with the VT offense being way behind their D. The problem with that is they are nowhere near the level of Bama.
