Apparently, he's decided to chuck it all and go for his dreams in Vegas. This is not unlike what I, and I suspect many others, have done.

I applaud him for having the balls to take this step and will tell you honestly I will do everything in my power to help him out here ( as long as he is willing to pay his dues and work hard).

I honestly wish there were more of you like him that had the balls to say " F*ck it" , I'm gonna do what I think is best for me.

I applaud you Ryan/Illini and will make you transition as successful as possible.

To the rest of you, have some balls, lay it on the line and take a chance, and in the long run, hopefully you will be rewarded.

Dante,
i did the exact same thing years ago from college. Not knowing anyone or anybody out here. Eventually, I was my own man, and I had numerous hiccups in between (which I will be happy to document, if necessary).

Bottom line, it takes balls to come out her with nothing but hope and I respect EVERYONE who does that whether they FAIL or SUCCEED.
And I will defend to their death their right to a happy lifestyle, if that is what they feel this represents.

You said you would be happy to document some of your bumps along the way. . . I am interested if you have time.

My plans are to be there in 4 years as long as everything goes as planned for me!

Kruser,

tello me your age and believe me there are people in your corner, provided you are sharp.

Wasn't meant to reminisce or bring emotions, but there are thousands that come to Las Vegas with dreams, and many leave with broken dreams.

Hopefully, this forum prevents those from coming here with false expectations.

I have talked to "Illini" and been completely honest about what Las Vegas will give him and he knows what he's getting into. I wish "Illini" nothing but the best if he decides to give his current occupation up and move out her, and have made no secret I will try and help him out in any capacity when he gets here.

i truly hope this has a happy ending, but will be impartial as tp waht happens as I hope " Illini" will be.

I have great respect for him as a poster and as a person for the short time I met him and will let you know what happens.

Nothing wrong with following your dreams ao long as they are realistic...

Do you know how many people have thrown everything away to go to Vegas and return bankrupt?

BIG RISK that I wouldn't recommend to most people...

Shrink, I know what you are saying. I'm not going to gamble and try to get rich or anything. I already bet sports, and although I'm no sharp, I do win every year. I will pretty much make it a rule that I won't gamble on anything except sports and poker. I have a riverboat near me, and I don't gamble regularly there. Alcohol is not a problem for me, and I don't do drugs. So I think I'll be fine in that regard. For me, it's a simple case of hating my current job and wanting something different. The question will be if I can find happiness and quality people to hang out with, in a town that's known for being all about money.

I completely agree Mr. Shrink ( Ken) and I've been there and back again myself.

I've talked to "illini" personally and have not BSed ONE BIT as to what to expect here.
If he makes that decisions I support him 100%, as I think everyone should here, and I think if he fails, many others have in front on him.

It is our OBLIGATION to give him all of the resources to succeed, if that is possible.

Much appreciation for what you are going to do my man, the key for me being sucessful in sports betting has been goals, set them and stick to them, NO CHASING. If you set manageable goals, and create a gameplan to get there within certain time constraints, you should not have any problems. Unless you can't pick games to save your life LOL

Plus if you ever need advice on particular games, what better place than this!? GOOD LUCK MY FELLOW ILLINOIS FRIEND! :toast:

Brock, thanks. I'm never going to be anything more than a recreational player. Money that means something to me, but is not my livelihood. I will be spending a lot more time trading stocks and options, and I will always have a job that I go to. So if I make the move there, it's not going that big of a change, other than the surroundings.

GreenDoberman, I am with you about being ballsy. Absolutely. I am pleased that Illini has a vision and wants to see that through. I am chuckling though, since usually, the 'defending to the death' part involves some sacrifice on the 'speakers' part. LOL!! Give me Liberty or give, uh...that guy over there, DEATH! Laughin loud, but not at you or what you are saying. tulsa

I did it last year, packed up and moved 2000 miles from my hometown. We didn't know a sole out in Scottsdale, AZ.

We figured what the hell, only live once.

Although we are back in Ohio now, it was surely an experience.

Go get'em ILLNI you wont regret it!

Big, if you could afford it, you should have stayed in Scottsdale. You could probably retire off what you made on the property in the next 10 years.
