It’s always tempting to bet the Under for these mid-week MACtion games, but this time, the Falcons (4-4 SU, 3-4-1 ATS) are clearly the right choice at –4.5. This program had nowhere to go but up after finishing 4-8 last year; QB Matt McDonald (16 TDs, three INTs) has improved his performance level, and Bowling Green’s offense has moved up from No. 127 to No. 101 on this year’s F+ charts at Football Outsiders.
Meanwhile, Western Michigan (3-5 SU and ATS) are coming off a surprise 16-10 upset of Miami-Ohio as 7.5-point road dogs. It’s nice to see them win for a change given how much talent they squandered last year, but most of that talent has moved on, and these Broncos are one step away from the glue factory.
