I just noticed that the line on the UDub-Stanford game (UW-3½) has dropped
to an even money bet (+100) at some books. That underscores my feeling about
this game to mean that the books want some UW action. I can agree with that
assessment.

I'm sticking with the trees +3½

Stanford +3½/Dub

The Dawgs are good but not up to Stanford's standards yet. I know Paul Ryan
has a good game in him. McCaffrey will be freed up with a good passing game.
Stanford has a better OL than any team UDub as faced thus far.

I've alluded to this in the past...

Keep your eyes on Colorado. They are better than people think, even myself.
12 points is not enough to take at Autzen........... Buzzzzzzzzzz... wrong!
Now they are laying 16½ at home vs Oregon St. I think they'll skin the Beavers.

Colorado -16½/OR St.

If they keep this up for much longer, Colorado will be ranked.

I have a bunch to add here which I will do in this thread soon.
It will be about coaching like the thread I started -- "Something
to watch out for."

Small letdown spot after win at Oregon ... not a proven ATS winner laying Double Digits ... but they are the much better team ... tough call ... good luck bud .... Like the Tree , pick , but you never know ... I'm on em right now ...

Colorado has been awesome as a doggie.

Now, like Mr. Kaboom says, unproven as a double digit fav.

We shall see.

Go Buffs!

Stanford WR Francis Owosu ruled OUT friday with concussion

Bizarre stat of the week: Christian McCaffrey has not scored a touchdown on the road in his career at Stanford (he did throw for one in Colorado last year)

I've missed Stanford WR Owusu's play for a while.

If you remember, he was the receiver that caught
a TD pass behind the DB's back while giving the
guy a bear hug.

Great call on Colorado this year. I leaned Col over Ore but not because of the value on Col but because the Ducks are a mess right now. Ill pass on Col this week but so far you've been spot on regarding the buffs.

Im on UW -3. Usually we agree on the Pac12. Stanford is good but I don't rank this team up with teams from Stanford's recent past. Qb Burns looked rattled at times vs Ucla. Shaw is a good leader, recruiter...lots of things but Peterson's in game coaching far surpasses Shaw. Stanford has had problems with UW and this is back to back road games where Husky Stadium can be very tough. Stanford's classes are now in session as well.

Played Wash st +1 at home vs Ore. Ore is a mess. Coach is a mess. OL is a mess. Qb is a mess. Best player is out...Was St plays up to Ore almost every year it seems.

Played Cal-1 vs Utah. Not totally convicted about this one yet but I believe what did Cal in late vs Asu was the quick offensive scoring and then quick int's. The defense was gassed. Utah's slower pace might play right into Cal's faster pace, especially at home.

Fresno St +10 vs Unlv. What am I missing here. I liked Unlv this year and have been dead wrong. Qb play is terrible!

Thus far Colorado's play reminds me of a dragster
smoking its tires a few times before a ¼-mile race.

Saturday is a green light at home

It seems that every year this thread attracts some excellent cappers
with opinions that are genuinely their own and not out-sourced.

There isn't any value as good as that on the entire internet.

I thank Kdawgg, Enfuego, sendacash, RunLeeRun, Kaboom and
WinOne for their original thoughts and analysis. They keep me on
my toes because they are very well informed.

I am on your coat tails KDawgg! Huskies haven't seen a defense like Da'Trees and their offense continues to grind. McCaffrey and Bryce Love present differing styles, giving them more versatility. However, U-Dub's offense is is much more versatile and the offensive line is developing some nice chemistry as they ground out 352 YR at Zona. Browning, Gaskins Ross, Pettis are special. I got a Huskies -3 at 5Dimes.

Oregon's shootout loss at home to Colorado was an eye opener for me. Da' Ducks miss Freeman more than I expected. The defense is so questionable. Coogs are well rested after a bye. QB Luke Falk garnered 505yards passing in Eugene in their OT upset win in Eugene LY. I can see the same sort of game again. Martin Stadium at 7:00 PM is a tough spooky place sort of place to play. It's MIke Leach and his gang of Coogs against the est of the world up there i a Palouse.

Cal -2 at 5Dimes looks comfortable. The Utes offense cannot keep up with the Bear Air Raid of Sonny Dykes. The Golden Bears are in a nasty mood after their tough loss in the desert last week. Davis Webb is Mel Kiper's top rated collegiate QB that is draft eligible. He has 18 TDP vs. only 5 INTs. and is has no fear.Utes HC Whittingham's recent road dawg mark ATS is a healthy 6-1.

Fresno State blew a 31-0 lead last week at home to Tulsa. Duh-Rooter's crew as a 7-point puppy LY beat the Rebs 31-28 in Fresno. I like the 10-points but will not play the Dawgs on the road of all places in Las Vegas. Too many so-called intangible distractions to worry about.

Happy wagering doods!

"I know Paul Ryan has a good game in him" ???? Are you talking about a Wisconsin congressman who was a VP nominee. Or are you talking about Stanford QB Ryan Burns?
I am sure Ryan Burns has a good game in him. But, based on the UCLA and KSU games, it is quite doubtful that his good game is this Fri at UW.

We will likely have some comments on this game in our Fri post at collegefootballodyssey.com

Royce Freeman has one major ability going for himself that the rest of Oregon's running backs
don't have which is easily forgotten. He punishes would be tacklers. I've watched how later in
games most opponent's defenders become notably less aggressive about taking him on at the
second level and beyond. Often he is driving them backwards as the play ends. As a Duckfan,
I am very glad to see his return to their starting offense. He's an inspiration to the team. At tne
time when he was injured, he was the leading rusher in the P5 conferences.

There are times such as this Saturday when it's all business to the Ducks. There is no time for
any ego trips or fanfare here because it's revenge time and they are also determined to bounce
back from an embarrassing loss to Colorado at home. It's an Oregon thing to perform when it's
long overdue and the public's respect is at an all time low. They get fed up with losing and that's
when it comes down to taking care of business -- nothing else but that. They will come out very
determined. Times like this is when they outplay their opponents, no matter who it is. The
only possible danger here is dumbass penalties by a talented but very young offensive line.

Oregon -1½/WSU
